“Suitable touristic hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

Suitable for light use hotel for one night. Reception was fast. Lifts were functional, even if it is at the same time want to use a more guests. Room 301 was clean. View the panorama of Budapest on the horizon victory monument on the citadel. The remote for the TV functioned well without torture the last remaining Energy in batteries. Heater under the window he obediently responded to all the settings but the fan is very loud. Lighting is sufficient and the room was quiet and had good sleep. I did not use the fitness center. The usual assortment of unsophisticated continental breakfast.

Room Tip: Room 301 was clean. View the panorama of Budapest on the horizon victory monument on the citadel. Th...

“Ok for a short stay, gives a feeling of a dated old world kind of Hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Stayed 5 nights with wife and son in Budapest at this Hotel. Booked a suite on the 7 floor at a good corporate rate through my company. That was the best part of the deal, a real big 2 room suite with breakfast and WiFi included at a very reasonable price. The Hotel looks and feels old and dated. They even have the old type "piped music" stuff under the side tables next to the beds with some knobs etc that I did not fancy trying out and the air conditioning and heating equipment and the TV's also seems to be maybe from max late / mid 80's or early 90's. All said and done, the Hotel still seems to do good business as we could encounter big groups of tourists every singe morning and it was a challenge getting space in the breakfast room. The breakfast spread was OK. The service could be better, simple things like tea , coffee packs in the in room coffee maker or soaps / shampoos in the bathrooms were not replenished until asked for etc. But in general the staff was polite and very helpful. Overall, an ok experience - next time maybe would prefer a more modern / newer property.

Room Tip: Plan and go on time for breakfast to get a seat before the rush of tour groups.

“OK for a 'one nighter'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

I stayed there this week for one night so I could attend a meeting. Generally the hotel is fine. Clean and tidy and I slept OK however the place is very dated and not somewhere I would choose to stay if I was paying out of my own pocket. It was cheap so fine for a place to get your head down overnight on buisness.

Room Tip: Ask for a 'top club' room on the 6th or 7th floor.

“Average hotel at reasonable price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

The hotel is nothing special, besides a very large and scenic entrance, but that is about it. The price is not bad at all, even though the rooms need some renovation: for example, the TV was quite old, the carpet along the halls is quite old as well and the bed was a bit over-used too.
I stayed here for one night only and for business but it was enough to realize that you are quite far from the very touristic attractions and central areas. This is ideal if you want to save some money and you have other means to travel towards the city centre, otherwise you are pretty much lost and stuck in the middle of nowhere.
There is a nice restaurant (Hemingway) at walking distance from the hotel which is worth a visit if you stay here and you cannot/don't want to go to a more central areas.

“Nice Room, somewhat distant from tourist attractions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We spent one night in this hotel at the end of a Cosmos tour. We found out room to be somewhat small but clean and comfortable. The room was quiet and had a nice view over a park. The hotel is located in a residential area of Buda so one needs to use a taxi or public transportation to visit major attractions. There is a tram stop nearby. We also found a number of reasonable restaurants and a grocery in easy walking distance. We found the staff to be helpful and the breakfast was good. I would recommend the hotel to travelers who are looking for a simple room and who do not mind using the tram to see the sights.
