“This hotel was great, and would have been rated 5 stars, except for the fact that they price rape you for no reason”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

Yes, what everyone says is true. This is a wonderful hotel, in a historic building, with wonderful friendly staff. We were bumped up, on account of our honeymoon, to a room with a gorgeous panoramic view of buda (us being on the pest side right in front of the chain bridge). This was all very lovely.
And yes, this is a four seasons, so everything is expensive. I understand that. So it's OK that breakfast was about $50 (although it's a little marked up for no reason). I also understand that if you use their laundry services, or book a massage at the spa, it will be expensive. This is totally reasonable, because those are the prices they demand, and believe are reflective of the true cost of the services they provide. What I cannot, however, understand, if why three phone calls to greece that lasted for about 5 minutes each were billed at over $150.00. This makes no sense, because it is not in any way representative of the actual cost of those phone calls. I get it, you're the four seasons, but do you really need to price rape us to this petty degree when we're already dropping so much money on our room, on our food, on your services?
For this reason, you get four stars. But the room really was nice...

Budapest was our final city after touring Prague and a week long Danube River Cruise. After tight quarters on a boat, we felt as though we had died and gone to heavan when we arrived. It is, as I mentioned, one of the most beautiful buildings in Budapest. Any traveller to Budapest as well as residents should be truly grateful to the Four Seasons to the jewel they created by restoring and improving upon this property. It is immediately obvious when you enter, no expense was spared. They made a tremendous investment into this city that noone else has. Aside from the building itself, the staff, the restaurant, the spa on the roof, the tremendously spacious rooms... made us not want to leave the hotel ;-) It was a "Palace" in every sense of the word!

Best part was Anna, the private tour guide they booked to show us the areas outside of town, and the private car and driver. Concierge made sure we saw the best of Budapest. Views of the palace, river and bridge. Walking distance to everything, though in the heat, we did take cabs too. Even if you don't stay here, the Art Nouveau Lobby is an architecturally significant example of this period, and breathtaking. Should be on any top-ten list for visitors to Budapest.

The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The concierge had wonderful restaurant suggestions. We really enjoyed the spa, and overall left with only positive things to say.

This hotel lived up to everything that we heard. The magnificent building, location at the foot of the Chain Bridge were spectacular. The view from our room provided an incredible backdrop. We loved our stay here and wouldn't recommend anywhere else!

Room Tip: Getting a room with a view of the Chain Bridge is definitely a plus!
