“A nice square.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

This lovely square features numerous stores and cafes and has a lovely statue in its middle.
It's a 5-minute walk from the Danube and from other tourist attractions in Pest.
Make sure you pass through it while in Budapest.

“Only 5 minutes walk from the Danube Corso - it's worth to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

The Vorosmarty Square is the most important scene of the Budapest Christmas Fair in the city center, at the Vaci Street, 5 minutes walk from the Danube Corso. In December you can buy here nice handmade products, and there are also beautiful Christmas concerts. In the middle of the square you can see the memorial of Mihaly Vörösmarty, Hungarian poet. It is an amazing, large monument, made from Carrara marble, on which you can sit down. Behind the statue is the M1 underground line, which stops at the Opera House, the Heroes Square and the Zoo.

“When in Budapest worth a stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Vorosmarty square somewhat of a let down if your are expecting something marvelous.

I am sure in its day was quite the sight and a major point of interest unfortunately now once you have seen the Gerbeaud Coffee house you can pretty much walk on.

Most of it now is filled with pan handlers and street artist trying to shill for their living as well as most of the architecture that was once grand and beautiful has been replaced by glass façade dept.. stores and chain restaurants i.e. hard rock café.

“Just a ordinary square”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Vorosmarty square is certainly nothing special, a small commercial square, best known for the Gerbeaud coffee house.

“It a Nice Square, Christmas Market”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

The Christmas Market is interesting, but outside Christmas holidays it's just a nice square. We liked Cafe Szamos on Southwest side for cake and coffee.

The area is a bit touristy with prices to match. Many of the upscale hotels are nearby so this is kind of tourist central. The area is a good for a quick look, but better to move on to other more interesting spots in the city.
