“Incredible!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

This church is an iconic landmark in Budapest and definitely warrants a visit. Unfortunately, when we visited it wasn't a sanctuary of peace and tranquility as there are extensive restoration works being out. It was sadly, very noisy but none of this detracts from the stunning beauty of the interior decoration, which must be seen to be believed. There is much to see, but again, during our visit some parts of the church were inaccessible due to works. Do make the short ascent up to the gallery for incredible elevated views of the nave, East End and upper decoration! This church will not fail to impress!

“Just spectacular and worth the wait!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Of course, travelling over Easter and wanting to visit churches do not always go hand in hand. Explanations of when it was open were not clear but we got there - and it was well worth the walk. There are few words that can do justice to the exterior and interior of this building - just go and see for yourself. I particularly loved the stained glass window of the deer (on the far left as you go in), information in the gallery area about the renovations and re-constructions and the architecture is just incredible.

“Beautiful church, needs some crowd control”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

This church in the Castle district is currently undergoing major restoration, so you can't see much of the (apparently) beautiful interior. But the authorities still insist on charging the full entry fee. You have to get a ticket from a separate office opposite the main entry door.

My visit was spoiled by a couple of tour groups making a nuisance of themselves, something needs to be done about overcrowding. So don't go until the restoration has finished, and try to avoid tour groups by visiting in the late afternoon.

“great venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

IT's just so well placed right next to the Fisherman's bastion and the castle that you shouldn't miss it. Inside's good as well, but honestly - nothing extra, except if you're this BIG church freak... In early 2013 it was still under some renovation on the inside, not sure you can enter...

“Beautiful!!! On the outside!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

This church is gorgeous!!! It is a must see, especially right as it starts to get dark at dusk. No need to go inside while the restoration is going on!
