“Great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Many museums and a few places to eat. We visited the national museum and the war museum. We also had dinner in the same area, and stopped in a small cafe. The architecture and feel of the area is great, almost no car traffic (so very walkable). Since it's located on a hill above Budapest, the view is great offering many photo opportunities.

“Its good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

This is a main tourist attraction in Budapest. It is fun taking the funicular is to the top, although it cost about 4 dollars to get to the top. It is basically like riding a street car in San Fran, you have to do it. We bought a one way ticket and walked down, which is what I would recommend. At the top you can get your photo taken with some Buckingham Palace style soldiers. Buda Castle is to the left, which is a museum now. The area in front of it has good views of Pest. To the right of the funicular is everything else. The only real things to do is the Cathedral and the Fisherman's Bastion. The Cathedral was being refurbished when we where there, which means you cannot see much of the insides, but it is a cool one. All the insides are painted in a way I have not seen in other European Cathedrals. Fisherman's Bastion is just a castle looking structures with good views of the Parliament. The walk down is not very tough, takes about 5 mins. Overall, I would not spend more than 2.5 hours here, but it is worth seeing.

This was worth the walk...spectacular views of Budapest from top. Take the elevator if you see it...100 HUF is worth it! Great shopping and cafes around as well.

The views from Castle hill are amazing. The structure is absolutely beautiful... pristine and glowing white above the Danube.

“Like a fairy tale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

There is nothing you can say that you don't like. Generally this part of the city is a must-visit. By visiting the castle and seeing all other buildings and sight seeings in this area you travel to the past. If you want beautiful photos that is the place.
