“EXCELLENT STAY IN MAGIC BUDAPEST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2011

When entering this hotel, you really have the impression to be fondled: very helpful personnel at the reception helps you in a quick check in and is always ready to help in giving information and offering services requested. The location of the hotel, in front of a nice park, is very near to the most interesting sites of the town and from hear is also easy to reach the Danube for a nice and romantic walk. The railway station nearby also help for further movement needs. Rooms are very well furnished and give perfect service (minibar, WiFi, functional bathroom, everything very clean.....). Restaurant actually is not offering an immense variety of choices in the menu, but though minimal, food is well prepared and the offering is able to fullfill any need. Very positive impressions also about the bar and the nearby lougnge common area. The hotel also is equipped with a Wellness centre (never visited). When I am in town, I always try to stay there.

Myself and my friend went here for a bit of a break away to relax before I was due to be married. We were blessed with amazing weather, and spent plenty of time exploring the city. The hotel provided an excellent base for our stay. The in house restaurant and bar were lovely, and the staff on the whole friendly. Our standard twin room wasn't exactly huge, but we didn't expect it to be - this is a city hotel and is the kind of hotel you use as a base to explore :-) The room was clean and tidy. We were overlooking the train station, but we didn't find it to be particularly noisy as we were out in the evening anyway. The tube station is really nearby too. I would definitely return to this hotel.

We booked through lastminute.com and this was the "secret" hotel! The location was great and very close to touristic sites. The rooms however, left a little to be desired. We specifically requested a non-smoking room however the room we were assigned smelled very strongly of smoke. When we asked to switch rooms, the staff said they were full and we had to stay in that room until the next day. The air conditioning also did not work which was not ideal for a hot day at the end of June. The only thing we were very impressed with was the excellent dinner in the hotel, and the free computers that were available!

Dear SilviaP998...

The team at Hotel Mercure Budapest Buda was delighted to accommodate you on your recent stay in Budapest and appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with your valuable comments. We greatly appreciate your feedback on the location, internet connection, breakfast as well as the compliments on the staff. We are very proud of our high speed wi-fi internet service wich can be used everywhere in the hotel, and from 1. January we offer it our guests on comlimentary basis. Great tip is the breakfast! We always recommend our guests try our rich all you can eat buffet breakfast. It’s healthy, substantial and shows wide variety of hungarian specialities. We have a unique location only a few steps away from the Budavár Castle ( World Heritage Site ) and 15 minutes walk from the Chain Bridge. Although we are not in the Pest side the city center is easy to reach by the frequently leaving metros (only 4 stops) and trams. Once again, thank you for the feedback and for taking the time to write about us. We look forward to having an opportunity to be of service to you in the future.
