“A great visit! We'll be back again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2010

We had a great time in Petnehazy. The hotel is located in a nice green surrounding. The satff was very kind, proffesional and nice. The cottage is very romantic and welcoming. also, it was very easy to reach the city center from the hotel.

We'll be back again :-)

Budapest is such a nice, old place where culture is rich, history is deep and the food is very interesting. Though the resort is deep into the mountains, it is worth staying there for the peaceful and serenity of the envrironment one wakes up to every morning. The resort, though is far from the city, it is accessible if one can really walk the 800kms stretch in reaching the nearest bus stop. The resort offer shuttle service to the Metro strop for a fee. The food offered in their restaurant is not to my liking, but I would suggest that one eats out in the city before coming back to the resort, or, one could do their own cooking at the comfort of their cottage. Bring your own laptop to get the free wifi access in the reception area. Try to join the tour programs offered by the resort, it is nice and interesting and is affordable.

Stayed in a twin room in the hotel booked via Thomas Cook, Staff welcoming, room facilities and cleanliness excellent, Restaurant provided excellent food in huge quantities at very good value prices. Facilities couldn't be faulted.

Views from room amazing and theadvantage of having a balcony was good.

A very nice peaceful hotel in a quiet location was ideal for a relaxing break. Will book there again when I go back to see the rest of Budapest that I didn't have time to see.

Transport from hotel to city was a brilliant extra included.

I was was there with my friends, they live in Israel. We had a great fun there. It was peaceful, the people was nice. I tried there aquafitness and we loved it. The trainer was nice.
The houses from wood are big and have good atmosphere. I liked the sauna in the house.
Thank you for all the good things!

Our home for the fortnight was one of the cabins, a bijou but well equipped kitchen, a private sauna, bedroom with kingsize bed and a living/dining area, an outside verandah. The cabin was well furnished and comfortable. We were met at the station by the shuttle service which we had pre-arranged by e-mail. The driver was courteous and very welcoming and gave us an informative dialogue on our way to the hotel. We were made welcome on arrival and quickly settled in. Throughout our holiday we took advantage of some of the offered excursions, which at first appeared expensive, but when you broke down the price was very good value for money. These excursions were escorted by a guide. The restaurant was very good and provided some good value meals, however on our day of arrival only a buffet meal was available as there were two weddings being catered for. The buffet gave ample choice. One disappointment was that on the Sunday food was served in the restaurant on the lower level and we were unable to access as there was no alternative means of entry. The bar closed at 9pm which was disappointing as during the 2nd week it would have been useful to have somewhere to go. (see below)
The shuttle service was provided by a father and son and we found both to be friendly, couteous and helpful, assisting us as we both have poor mobility.
The cleaning service during our stay did leave a little to be desired, used to Infiniti standards we were surprised to find that the only service provided was to empty the kitchen bin.
Our first week the weather was glorious and we were out and about, however at the start of the second week there were storms infact it rained continually from Saturday lunchtime until Tuesday evening. Being confined to the cabin was not so good, as the only entertainment was the TV , which consisted of Sky News and BBC World news, and no relief by going to the bar as it was invariably closed.
Budapest and the surrounding area is a good tourist spot with places of interest and green parks as well as a shopping centre.
One thing to be noted is that in Budapest if you are 65 and over you have free access on public transport all you need is proof of age.

Thank you for your detailed review!

I am happy to hear that you liked our transportation service and that you have enjoyed the Cottage.

Regularly for our RCI guests we offer full cleaning twice a week, while we clean the kitchen/ and empty the bins every day.
Guests reserving directly at the hotel or through online agencies receive full cleaning daily.
Next time you visit, just give a call to the reception and we will happily arrange the full daily cleaning as well

It is good to ready that you enjoyed our city, I hope you will be back to explore it even more!

Have a nice day!

This was an ideal location to enable us to relax in a rural location with all the amenities that are provided by this well appointed resort. The trips, that were organised by the resort, permitted us to see the historical sites surrounding the actual city of Budapest and these trips were very informative with detailed information being provided by the guide who accompanied each of the tours. The setting of the resort enabled us to relax on the balcony of our own Canadian Log Cabin, as well as to have a sauna that is installed in each of the log cabins. A short walk, circa 10 minutes, enabled us to use the frequent public transport that took us into the city of Budapest and provided us with the freedom to take as much time as we required to conduct our own sightseeing tours, before returning to the resort. (Last trams are at approx. 11.00pm). The restaurant has an excellent chef and the food was very well presented. Various restaurants, in and around Budapest, cater for most tastes and the quality was exceptional, and reasonably priced, in the few places that we frequented.
