“Tiny rooms and no wifi”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

We staid 4 nights in this hotel. The few good things in this hotel - it's location 5-10 minutes walk from center. The room was clean and it was quiet at the nights.
The bad things are:
1. The room was very very tiny. It's small for 1 person and there were 2 of us.
2. The beds are very very old (spring style) and not comfortable.
3. Wi-Fi only in lobby.
4. The breakfast is just horrible. Don't waste you time - just take breakfast outside.
There is a good place near the hotel for breakfast - Spinoza (Dob utca 15).

Room Tip: Try to get room close to lobby for free Wi-Fi and ask for bigger rooms. Don't waste your time...

We staid 2 nights in this hotel, the location is good, close to the train station. The room was clean, and the beds comfortable.Unfortunately they didn't have double beds, just twin beds pushed together. They didn't have internet, gave us many cables to try without find one to work, is better to not advertise what they are not able to provide.

Room Tip: If you need internet you'll not have it here! :-(

We stayed 5 nights. It is within easy walking districts of many of the major attractions. The first room they offered us was very small and dark. Upon request we were located to another room with high ceilings and facing the street. Becasue we were close to the lobby we were able to access the WiFi from our room. It was fairly quiet, but on garbage days, they came early and they were very noisy. Although a bit dated the room was very clean. One highlight of the hotel is the front desk staff. They were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good. Another positive about the hotel, is that there is a small bar, separate from the hotel, but right beside it, that was very attractive and owned by a great guy named Gabor. The name of the bar was Fuve S2 Dak. Finally we met a local fellow at the bar who runs a therapeutic massage business. Stange as it may seem we did use his services and they were very professional and delivered by a trained female massage therapist. It was a 3star hotel but it did offer good value especially in terms of the location.

Room Tip: First floor near the lobby to access WiFi

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Its location is within a short walk to many of the city's landmarks. It's 5 min walk to the famous New York Hotel (today Boscolo Hotel), 5 min walk to Dohany Synagogue, to the Opera, to the main avenues. The hotel is in Pest, on a quiet street, so our room was quiet too. The room had moderate furniture, a bit old, and the bathroom was not in perfect condition, but they were clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as we needed a quick and convenient staring point to explore the city. The breakfats was 5 euros and was amazing.
Just 3 minutes walk there are some grocery stores and currency exchange, so it was very good and handy for us. The hotel has 24-hours reception service and they can arrange for you a taxi to the airport at a fixed price of 22 euros.
We recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget who needs a clean room, wonderful breakfast and great location for less money.

Went to Kings hotel with a group of 50 people. We've got several types of rooms - some huge, other smaller, but all very clean with safe, minibar and cable TV. Elevator is tiny and fits to one person + luggage, so we went up and down the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator.
Breakfast is good.
Lots of bars near the hotel.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
All in all - great value for money. Would recommend.

The kings hotel is not too far from the city center (about 30 min walk from vasi utsa the main street in budapest). The hotel provides basic service, rooms and breakfast. It is recommended for people that do not have high expectations from the hotel.

This hotel is in good area - easy to travel to places of interest, access to trams and metro is only 5 minutes walk away.

Our room was good and very clean with a fridge, kettle and cups if you wish to make your own refreshments

Breakfast is good - plenty to choose

Reception staff polite and helpful

This is very good hotel for 3 star - you cannot expect more - we will certainly go back - enjoyable stay
