“A great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Wonderful caring and competent staff. Location is great. The spa room ( included in the price for some) consists of small pool (deep) and a sauna and steam room. Very enjoyable. We had breakfast on the last day in the hotel preferring to walk out each morning and explore small coffee places. Plenty on Kiraly Utc. And around Saint Stephen's Basilica (both about 5-10 minute walk from hotel. We had room 616. Fantastic view of park and above mentioned Basilica (deluxe room). And it had a lovely long bath. Could be a little noisy till about midnight with a lot happening out front and in park. I still believe the room is a great choice We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Deluxe room 616. Excellent view of park and basilica. Has a bath.

I have been staying at the Kempinski Corvinus many many times.
I still really like it.. Its still a very good hotel.. And i always have a good sleep here.. But its not as good as it used to be..

Checking in quite late at night. The guy at the reception told us, breakfast is till 10 o´clock, actually its till 1030.

Arriving at the room, I immediately called for a second duvet, our king size bed, only provided one large one, and we prefer to have two separate. The girl at the phone didn't really understand what i wanted, but after a while i guess she understood. It was quite late and we wanted to sleep.. After waiting more than 25 minutes i gave reception a second call... and then after another 10 minutes wait the second duvet finally arrived.....

The room itself didn't change since the first time i stayed at the Kempinski maybe 15 years ago.. Its still very good maintained, very very clean, housekeeping is doing a good job !! But.. after the refurbishment of the public areas, (versy fancy and nice... beautiful flower decoration) the room seems quite dated.. Its really about time for a refurbishment of the rooms..
And what I also didnt like is that the curtains are not really dark, in the morning the room turns bright !!

I asked the guest relation girl if she knew when the rooms will be renovated, her answer was : I don´t know ! so i guess no futures plans to renovate :-(

Next day I asked guest service for an iron to be brought to my room.. After again waiting almost 30 min and nothing happened, i called again, and got the answer, that i was in the waiting line to get an iron..... WTF... sorry I have never experienced this at any Kempinski Hotel. Ok it maybe can happen that there is no iron available, but at least i expect to get a call to inform me about that...... !!! After another 10 minutes wait it was finally my turn to get an iron...

Gym : very small room but with OK equipment, just wish everything would work. 3 devices were "out of order"..... not acceptable..

Breakfast at the new ES Bistro, very very good products especially the cheese and the ham.. really a good breakfast.. Loved it.. But...
The room was way too air conditioned... all tables at the window or the walls was directly under the very cold air condition... And what is not acceptable for a Kempinski Hotel and for a breakfast at that price was that some egg dishes had an extra surcharge... 2-3 Euros... Sorry Kempinski that is picky and not 5 star !!!

Had dinner at the NOBU which was delicious, but very pricy for small portions.. but its ok,, its what we expected... we still liked it... :))

To sum it up.. Kempinski is still a very good hotel.. but maybe its time to try something new in Budapest !!

There is no place to hang your shower hose in the bathroom !
I realized it at 11pm and talked with the manager on duty. He said there is nothing to do until morning.. Big scandal for a 5star hotel !! Waste of 100s €s

Great design hotel, fantastic huge lobby, comfortable, spacious room, nice bathroom. Location is top notch, just in the heart of the city. Only down was the too expensive breakfast (but you can have it easily in the neighborhood). I'd be back to this hotel anytime.

The Kempinski was ideal for our stay in Budapest. Located near many attractions and restaurants. Hotel is within easy walking distance of Danube, parks, shopping, and a wonderful market featuring locally made goods and locally grown food. Room was very clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Buffet breakfast was as good as it gets. Staff was courtesous and very helpful in recommending attractions to us.

The hotel has a very nice lobby (living room cafe) and stylish breakfast room (much more colorful than an usual hotel breakfast room). The rooms are comfortable and clean but lack the touch of style and modernity that you find in lobby or breakfast. The decoration feels old (walls, carpet) and the bathroom too (very narrow and old shower system).

Note: I asked for a non smoking room and was still sent to a smoking one. After complaining and insisting (reception: "sorry but we do not have any room available before tomorrow"), I was able to get a non smoking room. Personally I don't think hotel should argue what when it comes to passive smoking & discomfort link to smoke smell , the default setting should not be that you get a smoking room unless you request differently.

Room Tip: Ask a for room with 1 mattress and not 2. Bed have decent size but when you have 2 mattress it not v...
