“Great hotel...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Just got home after staying 3 night's at the K+K. Before we went we had seen on there web site that a free upgrade was going to people who printed of the voucher, we did this and got a nice room, would have like to see what a non upgraded room was like. The staff were lovely, very helpful when we needed to ask them thing's. The breakfast was really yummy, not hot hot, for the cooked food but still nice. Wont go on to much as lot's of thing's have already been said about this hotel, if I could give it one negative, it was the air conditioning was not cold at all and our room was so stuffy..and so was our friend's, this is a fault of there's and would of got 5 star's if that worked..We found Budapest really cheap to eat and drink outside but the hotel drinks prices were so high! Hardly saw anyone in the bar, wonder if this was why..We drank 2 nights in the bar before going to bed and were the only one's in there..wonder if price's had anything to do with it, we thought well a nice drink before bed...But was expensive..Really would stay again if we went to Budapest again..

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and the back of the hotel, very nice.

We, a group of eight Indians, touring East Europe stayed at Hotel K+K Opera Budapest for three nights from 31st Aug. to 3rd Sept. 2012. We were recommended this hotel by our friends who had stayed. This hotel has a noble policy of offering a special discount to senior (+65 yrs.) citizens. It is a posh hotel. The reception was very good & promptly allotted the rooms; an essential service expected by all especially the senior visitors;
The staff is very friendly prompt and accommodating. The travel desk concierge, front desk and restaurant staff are all well trained for their respective jobs. The hotel provides an excellent spread for breakfast buffet, cooked - full English plus! giving prompt service with a smile. Restaurant has good food options. Rooms were, spacious, clean, nicely decorated & comfortable. Hotel provided complimentary Tea/coffee making facility, with hot water kettle in each room! Tap water is portable and safe for drinking. The housekeeping staff provided standard toiletries, fresh linen & clean bath-towels daily. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi facility & allows complimentary use of their computers for Internet etc. for unlimited time.
Budapest is a fabulous city with interesting history. City is beautiful & well geared up for tourism! This hotel has an advantageous location since most of the tourist sites are within walking distance. Tariff is reasonable because we had booked this hotel about 4 months in advance; offers good value for money. I strongly recommend staying at K+K Hotel Opera. I would definitely prefer to stay here again.

I've never been that fond of Budapest, to me it seems like a crap version of Prague, but I travel there for work. Anyway, it is starting to grow on me. This hotel was very nice. A good location by the opera house and the basilica (the name of the saint escapes me) which are impressive.

Less impressive is the hotel's buffet breakfast, which looks like props from the Alien film franchise. I'm thinking of the bacon and eggs in particular. The coffee was decent, so that was something.

The staff are very friendly there also. They have a gym which is on the small side but does have rowing machine, x-trainer etc but no free weights. They have some little sauna rooms too but didn't get a chance to try them.

The KK Hotel Opera is a very special place! Wife and I spent 5 lovely nights at the KK and were very pleased. The service is exemplary with the staff going beyond what I would expect as normal customer service.

The breakfast was gigantic. You will not start the day hungry if you visit the breakfast area.

Our room was extremely clean and “oh” those wonderful towels – they are so thick and soft – so much so I copied the manufactures web site address and will be purchasing towels like the ones at KK.

The location is perfect with very easy access to the metro system. We used the metro to go everywhere. No need for a taxi when staying at the KK. Don’t forget to use the metro’s boat system on the Danube. You don’t need to pay for a Danube cruise, just jump on the metro boat and you have a cruise courtesy of the metro system.

I recommend the KK Hotel Opera to everyone.

Room Tip: A room in the annex will be very quieter.

The K&K Hotel Opera is on the Pest side of Budapest. It is located beside the Opera House. The location is great for walking to many attractions and high end shopping.
The breakfast is well worth the extra charge.
The hotel has been renovated and accomadations were excellent. This includes a nice bar area serving dinner. Staff are friendly and helpful.
We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Location - Excellent spot, easy to walk to almost all the main attractions, and if not, the tube station is right on the doorstep. Lots of highly rated restaurants nearby too

Hotel - Clean and modern, free wifi in bedroom. Room was slightly on the small side, not that it makes much difference, but we went for the most basic double room in any case.

Breakfast - Very good selection; cold meats, cheese, bacon, eggs, variety of cereal, croissants, breads, fruit etc. Open from 6am to 11am also, so good if you're a late riser

Would certainly recommend, as we paid £300 for 4 nights, and can't fault any aspects of the experience

Hotel really central with wonderful breakfast. Rooms are adequate with safe, toiletries, etc but I had one problem while recently staying there which was that the pillows were far too soft. I did ask for firmer pillows and, supposedly they gave us firmer ones, but they did not feel very different at all. Sleeping was intermittent because of this but did not detract from the beauty of the city. Amazing buildings to see. People were a bit unfriendly which I presumed was because it was near the end of the summer season. Prices quite high in general so don't expect to eat and drink cheaply. All in all a very good hotel though.
