Perfect hotel for a city trip. Friendly staff, very clean, really everything was superb. The best possible location for visiting Budapest. Nothing negative can be said. There are special offers for the low season. The transport from and to the airport is very easy with the shuttle.

Stayed here for 1 night only in a very spacious lovely room over looking the Pest side of Budapest, the Parliament building and chain bridge. The room it self had a very comfortable bed, internet worked well, and night lighting in the bathroom was a blessing if you needed to make a journey to the toilet during the night, however one needed a masters degree to work out all of the lighting switches which we found to be over the top.The view of course was to die for through the panoramic windows which is the main selling feature for this hotel.
Transportation and the hop on hop off buses are all but a short walk away, and there are many eating places in the street behind the hotel. I would however highly recommend the bar and restaurant on the right of the hotel as you look at it from the street, they had excellent food at good prices and very friendly staff.
The only downside I would like to bring up about this hotel is its extremely rude staff, being the two ladies who work at the reception. I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that we were two ladies travelling together or not, as she bent over backwards for all the males I noticed , still I feel better for having mentioned it, as it really spoilt my impression on what really is a most beautiful city.
We found the price to be excellent value, and quite affordable for the room , and its location. Breakfast on the other hand was nothing to write home about either, and cost extra.

Room Tip: Book a room as high up as possible to get away from noise below

We spent three nights in Budapest over New Years Eve. Hotel Victoria was an excellent choice. 5 min away from a metro station which connects buda and pest, awsome view over the danube and on the parliament and decent breakfast. We also liked the light installations in the room.

We stayed here at the beginning of our two week trip to Budapest and Austria over the holidays, and couldn't have been happier. The rooms were a delightful surprise, the view was stunning over the Danube and the Pest side of the city, the breakfasts were our favorite on the trip... including the typical European selection of breads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit, cereals/grains/nuts, jams etc etc. and a hot egg dish made to order... and all the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, but especially Irena, and the woman who handled the bar and breakfast.
Don't miss the 'tea' 4 - 5 P.M. in the white music room.
We looked at maybe two dozen, narrowed it down to Gerloczy or this, and were VERY happy here in this spot. (Try the Gerloczy restaurant and especially their chocolate cake...better than the best in Vienna) Also, the Budapest Card made the trip across the river easy and free, with many other benefits. Very worth the small price.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with any room with windows over the Danube.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over the New Year and would have no hesitation in recommending it. The rooms are modern, clean and well maintained with superb views over the Danube and the city. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is a bit tight on space but the food is good. There are plenty of great restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel. All of the main points of interest are within walking distance. What more could you ask for?

Room Tip: All rooms are good or if you have a preference just e-mail the hotel and they will try to accommodat...

Chose this hotel as I saw that it has great views. As all of you know, Budapest is great for it's night scenery. We walked a lot in Budapest (didn't take any bus at all), hence the location is quite far to walk if you are at the town centre. About 20 mins walk. Nevertheless, the walk also allowed us to enjoy the beautiful city scenery of this Unesco town.

Back at the hotel, you can also climb the hill and reach various restaurants. It's a quiet walk, hence do stay at the well lit roads for safety reasons. There was also a huge supermarket about 5-10 mins. The hotel is about 15 mins taxi ride to the train station. Book the taxi from the reception if you need to, for safety reasons.

Rooms were clean, warmly decorated and decent. Just that 2 single beds were joint to a double bed. The room was pretty well furnished, and there was a leaflet placed in the room to inform you of what to watch out for dangers (such as public transport), the expected taxi fair etc etc. I found the leaflet very useful as a tourist, but my partner was quite paranoid about taking public transport hence we walked a lot.

As for the receptionist, they kept changing due to different shifts. They will assist in your queries, but can sometimes be quite curt.

Breakfast was decent, good to last you till late afternoon. You can choose from the eggs menu on how you want your eggs to be done, and they will serve it warm and fresh to you. Ham, cereals, breads, yogurts, fruits and coffee/tea were served. Not bad for European standards. It's quite a value for money hotel.

Best thing of the hotel is the view. And the scenic walk along the river as you head out/come back from sightseeing.

Lovely hotel, only 27 rooms but each has a picture window with a stunning view of the Danube. Rooms are clean and very comfortable, breakfasts are good and there are hot and cold choices. Afternoon tea is served free of charge in the beautiful music room, lovely to come back to after a days walking round the city. I would go back to this hotel in an instance, we had a great stay there. The hotel is located just by the chain bridge on the Buda side, just under the castle and close to the funicular railway. It is a great location.

Room Tip: If you can ask for a high room, you will not be disappointed.
