“weekend away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

Spent 3 nights at this delightful, elegant hotel overlooking the Danube. Beautifully clean and comfortable with plenty of storage space and great views over the Danube, Parliament and Chain Bridge. All the staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Breakfasts were plentiful with a good choice to cater for all tastes and to last well into the day! Good restaurants a short walk away on the same road and also one street in from the river. Handy for Castle Hill and Gellert Hill as well as for all means of transport. Afternoon tea from 4 to 5pm included. Would definitely recommend this hotel for your visit.

Room Tip: Rooms at a higher level have less noise from trams etc.

Just spent 4 days in beautiful Budapest, and this lovely hotel is in the most perfect location. Each room has enormous picture windows, so uninterrupted views of the Danube. Opposite, on the other side of the Danube is the magnificent Parliament building, and just to the right is their famous Chain Bridge, both lit up beautifully at night. Fantastic photo opportunities! Behind the hotel, up endless steps and sloping pathways, is the beautiful Castle district - a must see tourist spot. More excellent photo opportunities. If you prefer, a few minutes walk from the hotel is the Funicular railway, which takes you up to the Castle district - quite expensive, but saves the legs!

Breakfast was good, and you can even come back at 4pm for free tea and biscuits! Didn't really need to eat again till evening, and there are several good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Particularly liked the Belgian one literally next door!

A couple of important tips about Budapest. We were told that everybody, including visitors, must carry photo I.D. Also, if you are over 65, you can travel FREE on all the buses, trains, etc. Didn't apply to us, but sounds like a really good deal if you want to check it out further.

Room Tip: End rooms have an added corner window, so even more of a view! But all rooms have an amazing view...

Just back from 4 nights in this charming small hotel some 500m from the chain bridge and directly opposite the Parliament building. The room was spotlesslessly clean with floor to ceiling window looking right on to the Danube. We only stayed B&B but found the food to be of a very high standard and more than enough to keep us going all morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful being able to answer our questions about getting around the beautiful city of Budapest.
A must do is to take up the offer of free afternoon tea in their white music room which is a spectacular hidden gem situated behind a glass sliding door leading up a wooden staircase to two magnificent ornate rooms from a bygone era. One afternoon they even had a live string quartet playing which only added to the opulence.
Would certainly advise anyone going to Budapest to give this hotel their full consideration as it is situated on the quieter Buda side yet only 5 - 10 mins walk from the hustle of Pest.

NOTE To Trip advisor we noted the hotel won a 4.5 star 2013 rating and would urge you to give them the extra 0.5 stars for 2014

Our family of four was on an Eastern European road trip. Little did I know when I booked hotel victoria that we would have the best view for their national holiday. We had front row, warm seats to an amazing fireworks display. The staff was so very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked it again for next year!!

Stayed here based on other Trip Advisor recommendations and were not disappointed in any way. Every room faces the river which seems to be busy day and night and you can see the Parliament building almost facing you - splendid when floodlit at night. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast provided an excellent choice with cooked/cold meat and cheese/croissants, cereal, fruit etc.

Would definitely stay here again.
