“Good Hotel, location and room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2010

I was accomodated in one of two new floors, in a new room, very confortable. Room looks like a **** stardard level, even if without fridge (standard room) but with lcd tv (three stars doesn't have a lot of international channel). Probably in few years all rooms or almost will be a superior 3*** star.(internet free included )
Location is very good, by subway and tram 4-6, but Budapest is very large city.
I reccommend : 1)OPEN TOURISTIQUE BUS 2)THERMAL BATH!!!!! 3) two boaT trip on Danube (Day/night)
Subway three lines etc.

Cheap option for 2-3 days in Budapest.
Situated conveniently for city centre, not far from Heros Square on Andrashi utci
15 mins walk from Dunube river (ne znayu kak pishetsya) with lots of cafes and restaurants near by
Easy to walk around to see all the main places of interest. Clean streets, interesting buildings and museums.

We had a standard room, but when we were leaving, out driver said that we should have upgraded, which is not that expensive. One thing was the gaps between the doors. We heard conversations in the corridor, running water next door, etc., which made sleeping near to impossible, we only fell asleep closer to morning. It is ok for a few nights.

There are Russian speaking people on reception. Everyone is very polite and always try to help the best they can even when speaking in very broken English. Overall, we like hotel service very much.

We only had breakfast in the hotel, which was very nice.

We recommend the hotel, you won't regret making this choice.

I have just returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel with 2 friends.
Budapest is a great city and I recommend it to anyone!
As for the hotel, it is in a great central location, just off Andrassy ut. one of the main streets for shops/bars, which also leads toward the Oktogan and Heroes Square on one end and Belvaros on the other.
The hotel room we stayed in looked like it was recently refurbished (I noted that in one of the guide books we had, it stated that the hotel's main block was due for refurbishment, I guess we got one of those rooms!), clean laminate flooring, a spacious double bedroom and a smaller bedroom with two single beds, the living area was also of a good size to accommodate 3/4 people and also had a small plasma TV mounted on the wall.
The bathroom, as with the rest of the room, looked new and wasn’t dirty at all, which was a surprise because based off some reviews I read I was expecting a dingy bathroom!
The only draw back to the hotel room, as mentioned by previous reviewers was the lack of air-conditioning, although there is a tall rotating fan that is in the living area, which helped us a great deal! Also, as we were very rarely in our room it wasn’t too much of an issue for us!
The staff were friendly and helpful at reception, our rooms were cleaned every day and we were provided with fresh towels.
The breakfast buffet like many European hotels I've stayed in, for my taste was so-so. It had all the typical continental breakfast options, as well as cereal, eggs and sausages. My friends and I mostly stuck to tea/coffee and toast in the morning!
The only real negative I have to say about this hotel is that they didn’t have a safe for the guests, this is something I consider a standard for all hotels and that was the only letdown.
However I wouldn’t use that as an excuse to not recommend this hotel, as for what we paid (approx 89 euros a night for a 3/4 bedroom room), it was a really good hotel and I would recommend it to all, plenty more positives than negative!

Just an average hotel. We found staff at the front desk to be pleasant and helpful, and the location fantastic for both walking to local attractions and catching public transport (the Oktagon station is just around the corner), however that is the extent of the highlights.

Rooms are functional but dated, with the bathrooms in particular having a particularly ancient-looking mould. Breakfast also appeared to be affected by age... when I tried to scoop some of the cocoa puff cereal out of the serving container, my spoon merely hit solid mass as the cereal had dried into one very large congealed puff. Luckily the bread and the jams appeared of relative freshness.

Rooms were also lacking air-conditioning, which in the height of June heat made sleeping unbearable. We tried opening the windows, but the lack of breeze and noise from the drunk fellows singing football anthems and dirty ditties in the square opposite the front of the hotel made sleep impossible. Summary being - if you can afford to stay somewhere better, then do so.

I travelled to Budapest with my friend for a week, and we stayed in hotel Medosz. When we arrived it did not look fancy...of course it is a 3 star, and the price was really good. After a day being in the city, we realised, that all the places we wanted to visit is in walking distance from the hotel. We were amazed by this. A hotel in the city center with this price, and you get there what you need, though it needs renovation, but the rooms are clean, the staff is very nice, the breakfast is good!
And Budapest - worth to visit!!!Definitely!

The hotel is indeed a bit tired looking but for what you are paying it is ok. Breakfast is sufficient. The worst part about the hotel is the bathroom. Stained but bearable. Location is excellent. Close to the subway, tram and busses. Across the street is Liszt tér, a square with numerous cafés and restaurants.
