Oh god, where do I start..?
We arrived here in the afternoon after struggling to find it on the sat nav and were greeted by two of the most miserable check in staff I have ever seen (two grey haired guys, looked alike). We were given our room on the 6th floor, and exited the lift onto a musty and smoky smelling corridor. Despite it saying a non-smoking floor, it smelled very funny and the carpet was stained and looked old.
I went into the room and the first thing that caught my eye was the orange patterned bedspread not dissimilar to that in a Days Inn in the 80's. There was a massive stain on the carpet that was tried to be covered up by the table, the bathroom had 2 hairs on the floor and looked like it hadn't been cleaned - the radiator was under the sink was covered in dust, that was just the start. The door frame was missing parts of it, the black frame underneath the shower glass door was partly hanging off and was absolutely filthy, coupled with the fact the plughole had hair and dirt hanging from it.
Besides the dirty room, there were 3 people staying in the room and they had only provided 2 duvets and 1 towel and a small hand towel. Later that evening, we realised this and had to call up to order some more, and there still wasn't enough as the person spoke limited English and didn't seem to understand the situation. Finally we had enough towels and duvets, but you could literally feel every spring in the bed and took us a while to get to sleep, that added with the fact that while the A/C worked, it gave very limited power.
Now, housekeeping. It seems to be non-existent. We came in on the second day, and all that the cleaner had done was fold the bedsheets and towels (still not enough). The dirty cups from the previous day had not been taken away or cleaned, water jug from the previous day's room service still in the room and the toilet, bath and sink hadn't been cleaned.
Throughout the night some loud rap music had been playing and had kept me awake, in the morning it was still playing! Breakfast was also ridiculously overpriced for quite bland and tasteless food.
The whole hotel needs a MAJOR revamp, carpets, beds, rooms, furniture, staff - the LOT. Breakfast was tasteless, the rooms and corridors smelled funny and the staff were rude and unfriendly, and just seemed really grumpy and unhappy to be there.
The only thing I can say in favour of the hotel is the location, it is on peaceful Margaret Island and has great views of the Danube (well, our room didn't). Dinner was also nice in the restaurant next door.
So please, just don't stay here. The rooms are dated, old, smelly and horrible. Housekeeping seems non-existent and the staff are grumpy and unhappy to help. The so-called free WiFi in the lobby didn't work using the username and password left on a card at the desk.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a relative long comment on TripAdvisor website about your recent stay in Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitsziget. We are pleased that you have chosen to stay in our hotel and it is a pleasure for us that you found at least the location peaceful and nice and the dinner at the restaurant.
We really appreciate your comments regarding the smoky smelling corridor, the rooms, staff, etc. From the 1st of January the whole hotel is a nonsmoker building, nobody is allowed to smoke in the rooms, corridor and lobby area. I assume that somebody lit a cigarette secretly and did not take the regulations into consideration.
Regarding your comments on the room, I totally agree with you and we all hope of a major facelift of several room and hope our owners, based in the UK will soon raise the funds necessary for the renovation. Fortunately there are only some rooms they need a major facelift, it was your hard luck to get one of these rooms. I think it is due to our high capacity at that time and we could not offer you a most proper one.
We are very sorry to learn from your comment that not every service were up to your expectations. There is a continuous effort on our side to improve our services and your comments will help us in it.
We do very much hope you will find the time and the opportunity to return to our hotel (perhaps in some years) and that we can regain your confidence.
