We stayed for a long weekend and the Carlton was a easy walk over the bridge into the town centre, the staff are very helpful and the rooms are basic but still good, I would recommend this to anyone, like others have said before check out the Belgium restaurant next door!

The Carlton, whilst being nothing remarkable, is in a good location, on the Buda side of the river just near the Chain Bridge. Very close to the tram that goes up to Buda Castle. Breakfast was good, nice variety. We stayed on a garden room. Rooms were clean and comfortable. WC was small, but clean. Staff were quite helpful and friendly. There was a free water machine on the lobby, a simple yet excellent idea to fill bottles with clean water. This is a good, reasonably priced place to stay in Budapest.

Great location, just at the beginning of the hill to Buda Castle. So easy also to go to all the main attractions of Budapest and only 10min by walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral. Nice room and really kind staff. The breakfast included in our reservation was really good with a lot of choice.

Walking distance from the Royal Palace and the Fisherman's Bastion. Not too far from the Parliament and other attractions, either. I paid 6 euros for the taxi that took me to the Citadel.
Front-desk service excellent, and all the staff was very helpful; you can change money at the reception, but they will charge a 10% commission. The room was not very large, but very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was varied and tasty. The free WiFi was a little slow in the afternoon. There is an "indoor" garage for travelers coming by car (15 euros/night).
All things considered, I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it.

The hotel is very central opposite to the parliament and on the opposite side of the Danube. It is also at the beginning of the street that goes up to the castle - it is at walking distance. Because it is on a side street, it is quiet without traffic noise.

The breakfast is OK but couldn't find any croissants. In this season (November) the price is reasonable (around 50, 60 euros). The rooms are smallish but comfortable.

Convenient location in the center of the town, great breakfast. Rooms are very small and dark, the bathroom not spotless.
Probably used to be very comfy and pricy hotel. Now it needs some renovation.
Official price 140 euros per night is way to high for that hotel.

Great location on the Buda side beneath the castle. Get the no 16 bus nearby either up to the castle district or across the chain bridge to Deak square in Pest. Bus tickets less than 80p each. Good rooms and great breakfast. Only issue for us was the temperature in the rooms which was hot - even an open window and aircon didn't help much. Great Belgian bar at the bottom of the road.
