“Lovely island especially in Autumn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

This was a wonderful island, you can get to from 'Y' Bridge. We also had a boat tour round it. There is a running track around the outside or you can take a stroll away around 1 hour or so. In Autumn it looks fantastic as the yellow/orange leaves have fallen!

“Don't bother in November.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Went in early nov. Nothing was open. Trees were pretty and nice to escape the city, but don't expect to do anything besides take a stroll or run the great running path.

“Nice for walks”

Lovely place to go for a walk. You can also rent bikes if you wanted and there is a running track on the outside.

“Beautiful place to walk.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

This is a very peaceful oasis in a very busy and vibrant city. There is an olympic sized swimming pool where the residents of Budapest take time out during their very hot summers to cool off. Many outdoor cafes to sit and enjoy a glass of excellent Hungarian wine as you watch the world go by.

“Shall we walk, run or ride?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Margaret Island translated from the Hungarian Margit Sziget offers not just the opportunity to have a leisurely stroll and take in the fountain with musical co-ordination but also has a running track made of the sort of stuff you get in childrens playgrounds to take the strain of running....never seen that before, certainly not in a park. There were dozens of people using this facility. I have to admit walking on it was very good for the feet after walking around the island for most of the afternoon.

Even though it was late September some flowers were still in bloom and the scent of these was a real feast for the nose. It was glorious sunshine too.

As we were stopping nearby we decided to come back and try out the car bikes built for two, thinking this would be a quicker way of getting around. Wrong! It was a very good exercise for the legs and we are glad we only had it for half an hour or we might not have been able to walk away from it. Our legs ached! But we felt better for it and had a good laugh along the way.
