I have to admit I really only go into HRC chains when a particularly obsessed friend or family member seeks them out. So this time it was a family visit. If you've ever been in any of these you know what you're in for: the only deviation from the standard menu is the local burger, which is what I had. One of HRC's saving graces is you can order your burger medium-rare (sadly, in the UK, too many places refuse to do this - can you believe it), so I had that, topped with goose liver pate and onion marmalade. it was very good, a tasty but decadent burger! We also had a Hungarian white (similar to Muscadet) and a red (Cabernet Sauvignon) which were both very good and *not* something you'd get in other HRCs.
I can't remember our server's name but her ability to hold 3 pints of beer in one hand was stunning. Her service was attentive and polite, but fun and light too. Price-wise, you can almost certainly get different and cheaper food elsewhere, but it was not prohibitive - on a par with HRCs elsewhere.
In many ways it seems a bit weird writing a HRC review as I imagine you can say much the same about most city versions. That said, the local burger and local wine made me glad that we were pestered by the relative in question to attend!
