“Wonderful steaks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Elegant small restaurant on the Buda side with a lovely interior dining room as well as open air space. Though small, it is very smart and the steaks with foie gras are fab. Beautifully presented with a Hungarian pancake and veg. So good we paid a retrun visit for the same again.

“Cosy, Fine Dining in Buda!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

I had dinner at Sophia's on my way to the theatre. My limited time meant I wasn't able to partake further of the intimate, cosy ambience of the dining room; nor the friendly attentiveness of the staff; and of the other dishes on the menu.

As it is, I had to make do with the sumptuous Grilled chicken with glazed onions and baked potatoes, whilst the staff made every effort to ensure comfort during my dining experience. The meal arrived in a timely manner, and I had sufficient time to enjoy it prior to the show.

I've had a glimpse of Sophia's and i look forward to dining here again!

“Will not be back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Treated ourselves one evening to a meal at the Piano Bar. Looked inviting from the outside but AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Waited ages for the food and after eating a mouth full of chicken covered in a sauce - discovered it was virtually raw!!!! Pointed this out to the waiter who decided he didn't understand any English. Eventually got the message across and he simply took it away to cook. Meanwhile my partner had nearly finished his meal. I would normally complain but realised that no matter what I said - the waiter was not listening and didn't care. I really should have complained as although I wasn't ill straight away - I was a few days later.
There are much better restuarants near by

“Lovely and recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Had my last meal in Budapest here and it was sooo nice. Ghoulash soup to start followed by hungarian prepared fish, really my sort of food.
Small menu, but the food was nice, the wine was good and the service was excellent, waiter was great. Have a taste of the palinka... I went out and got three different flavours after trying it here. Two course meal with wines and beers, palinka, came to about £35, excellent value for money,

“Great little restaurant away from the tourist spots!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We had a really good meal here for the price - the food was very tasty and well presented and the service attentive. Although it doesn't look particularly attractive from the outside, the outside seating is nice enough and you can enjoy a view of the Danube (unless there is a parked car obstructing it!). The menu is small (also in English) and the food was served quickly with a good wine selection. Would recommend if you want to get away from the tourist trap restaurants in Pest!
