“A bit pricey - but fun ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Small but well prepared, the owners have taken a lot of time to make the most of the little space they have. The price is a little on the expensive side, and at first we were very disappointed with the shortage of space as it was as full as the London Underground at 17:15. Within moments, however, it got better, and I soon realised why ... it's too cold to stick around for long. One wonders how one would cope with a night in an Ice Hotel. The staff were very helpful with the usual excellent English (I asked why some drinks were in ice tumblers and some in plastic ones - the ice ones contain alcohol, but it's so cold, the non-alcoholic drinks would freeze in a matter of seconds!) and I'd recommend it for a bried visit - even if it's just to have your picture taken under an ice sculpture of The Titanic.

“Horrific”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

I promise you are not missing out if you do not visit the ice bar. Not only do the ponchos they give you do NOT block out the cold and you are left absolutely freezing for the small duration that you are in the bar. The bar has NO ATMOSPHERE, some old Lady gaga song was playing and the bar tender didn't say one word to us and prepared us an awful drink. Luckily my friends and I had already read the awful reviews about this place on trip advisor so we bought the special where you could enter the bar for one euro, we took a few pictures, and were so cold after 5 minutes, we swiftly exited! DONT go!

“Refreshing experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

A new experience and was 'different'! We paid 3990Ft (around £12 -£13) entrance for two adults, which included 2 vodka-based cocktails, and 2 non-alcoholic 'cocktails'. There were only two other people in there, and maybe that was just as well, because there are only about 6 seating places - should you want to sit down! I was impressed with the ice sculptures, but there again, I haven't physically seen any before. Entertaining for about ½ hour, but then you begin to feel the
-20°C temperature! One advantage on leaving, was going outside for a warm, into a February night which was 'only' -4°C!!!

“A N'ice' stop for a few pics”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

The Ice bar is basically an industrial freezer with some ice sculptors inside, a bartender gives you one of the selected cocktails and thats that; You wear a large thermal poncho and gloves, and the glasses are made ice - but numb your lips if you sip rather than slug your drink.

I found the drinks seemed to taste of neat alcohol, or rough vodka, with a bit of flavoured juice at the bottom - once you were numb.

We bough a ticket which gave us entry plus to drinks for 3000Huf per person, we had been thinking of getting the 3 drink ticket but are glad we didnt as you dont want to be in their that long, it is chilli - even in your poncho - and there is not many seats; standing in an industrial freezer looking at the ice sculptures is nice for 5 mins to take photos but that is all, plus the cocktails arent any good! You certainly wouldnt be spending your evening there.

It is worth going though - just so you know for yourself what an industrial freezer full of ice sculptures looks like. Wheelchair has to left outside of freezer, and their are few seat - which are made of ice (covered with a skin of some sorts); Hopefully it is not too full or some kind soul will let you sit down.
