“Eger Wine Tasting Tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

My wife and I were in Budapest in 2012 and decided we would like to see the Hungarian countryside, wine country, and the city of Eger. This was a most pleasant experience, much of it due to the excellent service and naration by our polite tour guide, Balazs. He is very well informed and knowledgable about Hungarian history, current events, wines and vineyards, and local customs. What we loved most about this tour, in addition to the beautiful scenery, food, and wines, was the fact that we did not feel like tourists. We were made to feel that we were part of the culture and locals who were out on an exciting adventure. Our experience was excellent and I would definitely use Sweet Travel again.

“Sister Trip Made Outstanding!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

My sister and I met in Budapest to spend some time together and we were lucky to have scheduled a day trip to Vienna with Sweet Travel. Balazs, our guide for the day was absolutely wonderful. As we drove out of Budapest, Balazs talked to us about the city, buildings, and history. Once in Vienna we parked and walked around the city learning all about its rich history, it was such a wonderful day! The next day we wanted to do a city tour of Budapest and requested Balazs but were told that he had another tour, but we were so excited to see Balazs when we came down to meet the guide. That morning we went all around the city and were able to mention some things we wanted to see and he made sure that we did. We could not have been happier or had a better time. The price was great for private tour and we were completely comfortable the entire time. I have recommended Sweet Travel to friends and they have had an exceptional time. My next trip to Budapest will definitely include Sweet Travel and yours should too!

“Touring with Sweet Travel was a true pleasure.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

This was a fantastic experience. Booking the tour was easy and I was picked up on time at my hotel in a very clean and nice vehicle. The passion my guide Balazs had for the city was infectious. He was very well informed and his knowledge brought this wonderful place to life.I would definitely use Sweet Travel again and would have no hesitation recommending them to other travelers.

“Highlight of our Trip: Wine Tour & History Lesson!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

This excursion was part of our fall getaway to Prague, Vienna and Budapest. After reading up on Eger in our guide books, we were keen to find a way to make a visit. We were pleasantly surprised when, upon our check-in to our hotel, the concierge presented us with a brochure with a wine tour excursion to this very place. In a moment, she rang the vendor and the day trip was swiftly booked at a very reasonable rate.
Balazs picked us up at our scheduled time and we were promptly off on a journey to the historic city of Eger to taste its world famous wines and wander its Baroque streets. We were very interesting in tasting the famous 'Bull’s Blood' wine and learning more about the story behind it. The drive north was beautiful and the in-depth history lesson on Hungary along the way was fascinating and eye-opening.
We visited this very charming city which included a visit to the Basilica, the main street with its beautiful baroque houses before heading off to enjoy wine, food and exquisite Hungarian hospitality.
We were then driven to the “Valley of the beautiful women" and were invited into one of the caves for a wine-tasting of 5-6 different wines of the Eger wine region. We were even served the most incredible Hungarian Goulash soup, which I have attempted to duplicate back at home (it’s just not the same). The atmosphere of the wine cave makes the experience truly unique. To our delight, the “samples” were full glasses, which is not at all like what we are accustom to in our homeland of Canada where you may be presented with a mere 2 oz sample.
Having been to wine regions throughout Europe and North America, this day-trip was a truly unique and thrilling experience that you just don’t find anywhere else in the world. Sweet Travel made this trip first-class and the warm hospitality and incredible knowledge of our host Balazs, sets this experience at a TRUE 5 Star Trip Advisor rating.

“A good taste of Hungary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

On a Friday morning my wife and I suddenly decided to travel to Budapest the same day. We had no other plans than to enjoy the city and to eat good food enjoy the atmosphere. One day we decided that it would be nice see some other part of Hungary and our hotel suggested a trip to Eger for a wine tasting. We were fortunate to get Balazs as our guide. My wife and I have travelled a lot in many countries and believe me, we have seen many types of guides but Balazs rates 5 stars.
He knows all about Hungary and the history, he knows a lot about wines, he is an excellent driver
and we were very relaxed in his company (at least after the wine tasting! ). We could see all the
places we wanted and we felt very comfortable all the time. The wine tasting was superb and especially we liked the Bikaver Superior 2007 and also the Kekfrancos. We travelled back home with a lot of wine in our bags.
Thank you Balazs, and we will naturally recommend our friends to call you when they want to
enjoy a day in your company.
