“Good place for cheep money.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Near city center, small room but very clean, good value, owner and every body is very correct and good.

In room you have only TV with international channels but if you like turn off you must stand up and go there to turn off... Only firs day they give us new towels, no toilet paper.. 2 rolls for 3 days no change or new...

I recommended this place and in future I will go there again...

We stayed in a private room for 4 nights and were very pleased with the accommodation.
The guesthouse is situated in a pedestrian square with plenty of good quality restaurants/bars nearby. It is located approx 15-20min walk to the heart of the city & main attractions. There is also a metro line close by (5min walk away).
The owners were lovely & breakfast was fresh (standard European bread rolls with ham/cheese etc).
Would not hesitate to stay here again.

First start withe the positive:
Great location on picturesque square with terraces and restaurants, walking distance (10-15 minutes) from city center and Danube, nice and clean room, free use of internet and free wifi. Our room was spacious and airy, with two big windows ,with a double bed in a loft upstairs, so basically we had two floors in our room. Very nice touch! No airco (which you cannot expect for the price paid), but a standing fan which we took upstairs for the night and used downstairs during the day. Bathroom was spotless.

There are also some negatives:
Not so good bed, you can feel the springs through the mattress. When you arrive after 9 pm, you have to pay a ridiculous € 8,- extra, because someone has to go over there to hand you the keys and show you the room. Breakfast is available from 9 am, but it's also possible that the person making breakfast doesn't show up untill 9.20 am. When you want to leave early, you can make your own breakfast. That is if you're lucky. In our case some other guests already ate all the bread (which was already in the fridge for two days...) and cheese an drank all the juice, leaving us with only some butter and jam.... Better buy your own breakfast!

The rooms were surprisingly clean, nice hardwood floor and tile. Some rooms were huge in size, and the smallest room was still decent. The guesthouse was laid out in a way that it was both private and social, depending if you wanted to meet people or just hide away. It was completely your choice.

It is located on a "square" that has many bars, restaurants, and cafes. It is a quiet guesthouse except if you open your window you can hear the chatter of the people outside at the cafes, which is a friendly sound.

It is very close to all metros, buses, and shops that can take you anywhere.

There is a common kitchen where a very basic/Hungarian breakfast is served. Coffee, toast, jam, and meat. And it can also be used for your own cooking in the evening if you choose.

There is on large room/apartment on the top floor with it's own kitchen too.

A computer with Internet is provided, as well as wifi if you have your own laptop.

Overall, because of size, cleanliness, and location, it is the best value for money in Budapest guaranteed.

Location is just amazing, vibrant, greenery and convenient. Fill stomach or throat in any cafe, all looks worthy a try.

The owner Peter is a character, very helpful and had a nomadic appearance.

The building itself is just beautiful because of the age. The double room is huge. It has a corridor with 2 big book shelves (although in Hungarian language). The sleep corner is in the higher top, a romantic ladder to climb. Definitely exceed the money value (any hotel can confidently charge twice or thrice for the space!!! ). Sleep quality is good, no noise. Breakfast is included, this is normal, but quite Hungarian I guess, bread spread is butter, not margarine :). Coffee is made by heating the iron pot, so vintage and true.

I am quite picky in dust, so this is a bit downside.
