Description: Located in the most peaceful part of District V in a small side street of Vaci Utca (Papnovelde utca 3.), BARBar Cafe & Chocolate is THE BEST chocolateria in this town! The owners, a young couple named Viki and Tomi, are very enthusiastic about the cafe and their aim is to make the guests utterly at home and relaxed in their cafe. The philosophy behind it is: using only high-quality ingredients for the preparation of coffees, lemonades and chocolates. For the chocolate drinks they buy real Belgian Callebaut chocolate (dark 70%, milk 47% or white 28% chocolate pastilles and not powder that is sued in most other Budapest cafes). The freshly made lemonade drinks (in ajam jar) are very refreshing on a sultry summer day. You can also have snacks, should you feel peckish: try the various spreads (aubergine spread, Italian pesto, spiced tomato cream). BARBar Cafe has laid-back atmosphere with warm colors and creative furnishing (refurbished Singer sewing machines serve as tables).

“Taste sensation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

One of the best hot chocolates you will ever taste in your life...
Orange and cinnamon was delicious.

Many flavours to try. Wanted to visit here more but wasn't nearby at the right times boohoo.

They also do a palinka and bonbon tasting menu.

Yummy

“Those lemonades!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

I've been to this cute café three or four times already and never got disappointed. The owners are really nice, the coffee is great, and those lemonades! Miam. They are huge and taste so good! They come in vintage-style jars packed with fresh fruit. Definitely would recommend.

“The place for any event!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2012

Let it be a team building evening with your new colleagues, a drop-in with a friend after work, a date with your beloved one, this place is perfect for all types of outgoings. Viki and Tomi, the owners will make sure that you will not recognize the time flowing while you are among the great old photographs or sit on the "beanbags" in the chilling corner. We often go there because we love the various hot chocolates - dark, milk or white with either strawberries, mint, nuts or a drop of alcohol, etc. - and the food and the lemonades (these served in big bottles), all of them fresh and fruity. Once you have been there, you have to go back again and again to try to other chocolates - and before you could realize, you will be obsessed with BARBar :)

“This is Real Hot choco!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2012

Found it online and decided to check it out. My lovely lady was a bit skeptical at first but once we sat down and looked at the menu we knew we were in for a treat.
The only item that is served is hot chocolate! This hot chocolate is either 70% dark or 33% milk and is also mixed with ingredients and flavors of your choice. I ordered dark with orange zest and cinnamon and my girlfriend ordered milk with strawberry. I will admit that she chose the better item, for drinking 70% chocolate is really heavy.

The place was nicely decorated, with good music and a relaxed mood. The waiter was kind and helpful!

Go there forsure!!
