“Great burgers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

This place serves one of the best burgers in town. No frills, no fancy toppings. The quality of the meat is good and it is made to order. It is worth going for the bigger burgers.

Don't expect the joint to be something upmarket, this is a simple place with a few seats inside andf outside + some terrace on the street.

My only concern is that they close a bit too early for a fast food joint. True though, their neighbourhood is not the busiest at night.

“Tasty bite.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

Happened upon this place. Went for a burger, hotdog and chips. All good quality, made to order (Literally the pattie is cut from mince when you order it), good price. Only little quibble is having to pay extra for ketchup for chips but that doesn't take away from the taste. Good location for watching the world go by. Nice for a quick tasty bite.

If you like burgers, this is a must if you visit Budapest.
Tasty, fresh and well made, everything for a fair price.

“Great Burgers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2014

This place is a little out-of-the-way in District IX, but if you're in that part of town it's worth a look. They make burgers, chicken sandwiches and dogs plus awesome English-style chips (fries). There always someone on staff who speaks English and the prices are pretty reasonable. Recommended.

“Could be a competitor to Burger King and McDonald's.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

We (a couple) visited this place one rainy day during May. No matter that we spent 20 minutes walking under the strong rain with the "taken away" food towards our home, we didn't regred that we visited Black Cab Burger.

At first, the staff members offered us the big sized Special Burger instead of the small one. We thought that they just wanted to make additional money, but it seems that they were right. The big sized burger looked 2 times bigger than its "little brother" even that the price was only 200 HUF more.

It took 10 minutes to prepare our food, which is a good point in fast-food restaurants. It always feels better when burger gets cooked for longer than one minute. Meantime, the staff members kindly took our camera to take picture of us.

Two big burgers, one hot-dog and a big french fries/baked potatoes cost ~11 euros.

The taste was perfect and the quality of food was above average. It was a challenge to eat everything because of the huge proportions (burger and potatoes). Usually, when you eat burger in a small Hungarian restaurant, you get something less than Burger King and McDonald's. However, Black Cab Burger could have a good chance to compete famous competitors while being on the same street with them!

We would recommend this place for those, who are tired of the famous burger restaurant chains and who want to enjoy the alternative version of the familiar taste. Yes, it is not the healthiest food and it can leave some heaviness in the stomach as a result... but how can you go against a good burger?
