We visited the restaurant because it was recommended by our airbnb host and we arrived there around 8-9 pm. We were the last customers for the day. The waitress looked bored and uninterested with us (remember, we were the only ones there), perhaps she just wanted to go home but again Hungary is not famous for its customer service. We ordered the meat platter for two and it looked gorgeous and generous when it arrived. Our first bite shattered our impression of it. The food was reheated (unevenly) and not cooked to order.
This is not always bad and quite frequent among restaurants (I was a waiter once so I know) but when the bulk of the food is grilled meat then it is unacceptable. I could see the re-solidified fat around the fried meats whereas the grilled ones were dry. The chicken was horrendous and the veal, really, was slaughtered in vain.
We did not finish 1/3 of our plate and this was the only restaurant during the many we visited that we left no tip. The service was bad, and the food worse.
I would have mentioned the tacky 'rustic' decor but given the food we had, it doesn't matter does it?
