Even though I was sick for a week when I got home it was the best trip I've ever done.

great, great hostel. feels like you're hanging out at a good mate's apartment. welcoming, friendly, chilled atmosphere and unbelievable people. the guys that run it all started by booking in for 3 days, and then just never left. you'll absolutely feel the same. there is something on every night, so if you like partying then this is the hostel for you. they're also really good at suggesting sights to see and ways to spend your days in "Boodapesht". there is a communal dinner every night, which is a cheap way to eat and a great way to meet the other guests. rooms are always clean and fairly quiet. bathrooms are clean and the showers are great. so, so close to everything and easy to get back to at night! definitely check out this hostel - you wont be disappointed!

Room Tip: there is a very quiet 4-bedroom room at the back of one of the other rooms. there's only the one...

some hostels are hotels with dorms. and then there's carpe noctem. the staff are like camp counsellors for grownups: they'll cook and clean for you, but after they'll party with you til after sunrise. they are responsible for organizing so many cool activities you'll find it impossible to check out. the hostel was so homey and friendly i could have chilled there all day for weeks. great location too!

I never wanted to leave.. and will definetly be back. The staff are absolutely awesome and this hostel alone makes Budapest worth visiting.. Not to mention the baths, the beautiful buildings and the overall friendliness all of the people I met while wandering. Spent 3 nights there and will undoubtedly be returning as soon as possible. The beds were pretty comfy and the kitchen and bathrooms were always clean. But of course it was the athmosphere of the place - almost similar to just hanging out at a friends apartment - that left the best impression. I also liked that there was music playing upstairs in one of the living rooms at just about all times during the day; whether it be somebodys ipod or guitars, it definetly added to the chills impression of the place. The price was perfect, about 3000 HUF on weekdays and 3550 on weekends (10-15 €) you cannot go wrong. To any of those trying to decide between a few different hostels - if you like to party, if you enjoy feeling comfortable enough to put your feet up and chill, or if you like feeling super WELCOME... this is the right place for you.

BOOK BOOK BOOK BOOK BOOK! I can`t make it more clear...most chill staff yet extremely helpful for tourist attractions, most relaxed environment in the common rooms I felt like I was at my best friends house, and they have tons of activities planned daily that aren't the typical tourist stuff most hostels offer. Every night they do some sort of outing involving drinking, the nightlife is amazing so you are in for a treat. I had no idea what to expect coming into Budapest but now i can safely say that it has been the best travel experience this year.

If you wana place go in Budapest where you can chill , meet amazing group of like minded people who love seeing whats out there this is the place to be. If your traveling solo ..its a no brainer because you wont just have things to do every night ..your probably going to make some good friends in the process. The vibe is just amazing and you will never want to leave..dont believe me ask the staff most of them were just visiting this hostel..but it was to good to leave. The staff are a combination of hostel staff / tour guides who will go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. The place is clean ..and full of things to do ..but its really all about the vibe. You feel like your part of a wicked international family. ....but to describe it in one sentence....THE BEST HOSTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO.!!! Dont think about it, just book a room and thank me later ..Willy from Canada

Room Tip: Just book any room they are all good !

Carpe noctem has a friendly staff, good facilities, and was close to everything we needed while we were in Budapest. It is hands down the best hostel experience we have had so so far in Europe. From the start the staff were helpful with telling us where to go, how to get there and why we should go. They made Budapest one of the best stops of my friends and I's Europe trip.

The hostel itself had a good kitchen, enough bathrooms and showers so that you never had to wait to use them, and the fact it offers a playstation, a foosball table and computers to use in case you didn't have access to your own was especially awesome. It's incredibly clean and comfortable. In the end it felt more like a share house then an actual hostel to us thanks to the staff who live/work there.

Going out with the staff was one of the best parts of carpe noctem vitae. The nights we spent out with them involved too much silly dancing and probably too much fun (and alcohol). They show you the funnest places to go so that you don't end up wandering the streets of a foreign city looking for good places to go (which happens far too much when you're traveling).
