This little restaurant is tucked away on one of the small streets surrounding Buda Castle. It's so quaint and peaceful inside with soft lighting and a pleasant atmosphere. The food is unbelievable! One of the best we've had in Budapest! The service is exceptional and very friendly! Highly recommend!

Hunyadi Etterem was just 300 foot from our hotel (Carlton) which was handy. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by happy, friendly staff. They showed us to our table and were happy to help with whatever we needed. The service was excellent with the food coming really fast. We had the mixed meat starter which was fantastic had a lot of effort put into it, even though it came in a matter of minutes. Then for main course I had leg of lamb which was terrific! Would recommend!

We chose to eat one night at this restaurant during our holiday in Budapest because of the good reviews at Tripadvisor. We were really glad that we went there. The staff was very very nice, smiling, very helpful and truly nice. The food was very nice too, it was one of the best meals I have had for a long time. And the prices were good. Can really recommend going to this restaurant if you want a nice Hungarian meal. It is located a little bit outside the tourist areas but it´s worth it.

The only slight downside first: it's not cheap, especially by Budapest standards. Appetizers run between €8 and €12, mains from €12 to €20, desserts €4 - €6. With that out of the way, it is well worth it, especially if you're used to paying Western European prices for meals. All dishes were plated and served professionally and artistically and were cooked and seasoned to perfection. We made reservations for 7pm and we were the only guests until around 8:30, so we were lucky enough to have very personal attention. Our hosts took the time to suggest their favorite wines (all were delicious, and a €4-5 glass was almost twice the size of a "glass" of wine at most restaurants) and dishes, and they didn't steer us wrong. Would definitely go back.
