“Great boutique style hotel based in the heart of Budapest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Located on Liberty Square it is only a short walk to the Chain Bridge, Shoes on the Danube and Parliament building. We had booked an executive room but were upgraded to an Executive room on the second floor. Although not overlooking the square itself, this room was spacious, glamorous (if a little OTT) and full of gadgets. Well worth the price. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as it was a little steep at €17 each - instead we went to the nearby bakery.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful – nothing was too much trouble and we were even offered use of the spa showers and towels as our flight was long after our 12pm check out.

Although the gym facilities aren’t great (3 cardio machines, an all in one weights bench and a set of light dumbbells) the Jacuzzi/Spa area is great. The stunning ambience and lighting makes this spa one to visit during your stay. Note: Sometimes the Jacuzzi is switched off but within minutes of a call to reception an engineer was down to turn everything on for us.

The Hotel bar with outdoor white leather seating is perfect for sipping cocktails whilst watching passers by play with the interactive fountain nearby. The restaurant LaPlaza is Michelin standard at a fraction of the cost. Basically, If you visit Budapest – you need to stay at this hotel! 5* Hotel at a 3* Price!

This hotel is in a small-ish side comparing to other hotels in the vicinity.
The room is a bit oddly decorated, unless if you like big splashes of red color amidst the silvery white tones.
I am staying at their big executive room and they don't even have a bath tub in the bathroom.
The staff though, are attractive, very helpful and friendly.
The location is very centralize that is right next to a beautiful park, seven minutes walk to the popular park filled with young hip crowd and twelve minutes walk to the main square filled with high end, expensive shops and overpriced restaurants that open late into the night.
The closest subway is 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
If you enjoy a night life and would like to walk to some of the hot spot bars, this is the place to stay in budapest.
The room is, amid facing the street, is very quiet and the bed is very comfortable to sleep in.

This hotel is by far the best we have ever stayed in. It definitely lives up to the 5 star rating. Rooms were luxurious, spacious and modern. This hotel is located on the Pest (pronounced Peshhhhhht apparently) side which is only a short walk to Chain Bridge and Buda. Bar and restraunt staff were extremely friendly and the food was excellent. The fitness and spa facilities were perfect for a relaxing night.

Room Tip: Any room is excellent!

We were very impressed with the Iberostar Hotel. You could tell it was nearly brand new, with very modern furnishings. Everything was great, the bed, bathroom, shower, a/c, etc.

A few things that could be improved:
1. we were in an interior room and the inside of the hotel is very brightly lit. The Blackout shades were worthless so our room was bright at night.
2. The internet connection is very poor. We were able to facetime back to the US but it was choppy.
3. The TV console is really nice, but it should have been designed to give easy access to the hdmi port so we could plug in our laptop to watch movies.

If they fixed the blackout curtains, we would definitely stay here again if we returned to Budapest.

Room Tip: Get a room that faces outside so you don't need the blackout curtains as much.

Stayed for 5 days as we took in all Budapest had to offer. It was the perfect get back to with out a headache location. Restaurants a block down, next to a beautiful park. The hotel was clean and everyone I. The family appreciated the red, white and black in the rooms..beds comfy, pillows great and so on.
One thing that annoyed the heck out of all of us was the glass bathroom! Yes I love my husband, but there are something's that just need a door that closes and walls you can't see through. The toilet and shower were behind glazed walls, so it wasn't a full time show all the time. My teenage boys complained about it too. Who wants to see their brother drying off when they come out of the shower?
Other than that one pet peeve (and maybe there are some people out there who enjoy it) we loved the hotel and would stay again.

Room Tip: No bad room--as far as we could tell majority looked out at park or it was off to the side.

Best experience with this hotel! We had only 2 days in Budapest so we asked the staff for suggestions. They sat with us for half hour helping plan our days there. They could not have been more spot on. Everything was beautiful and the food was great. The service of the staff was the highlight of my experience with the hotel. First class service goes a long way!! The room was beautiful with a big bathroom and a huge bed. The decor was very modern and classy. Would recommend to everyone traveling to Budapest. The staff all deserve a big raise, they were perfect!
