“Very nice hotel, excellent breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

Fairly new hotel, decorated by local artists. The hotel has good facilities, including three brand-new pc's for guests to use and free WiFi throughout the building. Clean rooms, good beds.
It is located in a quiet street, one block from the Danube river and two blocks from a tramway stop. Easy access from the airport (bus/metro or taxi) and within walking distance from restaurants and shops.
The best feature of the hotel is its breakfast: everything one can wish for is present, including local champagne... One of the best hotels I have stayed in!

This small well refurbished and renovated building is an ideal site for a modern boutique style hotel. It contains some interesting reminders of its former use. This in itself gives the visitor a glimpse into the history of the city. More to the point is the excellence of all the staff and their willingness to give a really personal service. For some travelers, the corridors may seem rather narrow, the reception area and bar a little small, but this is all part of the hotel's charm. Like other reviewers, we could not fault the buffet breakfast--from breads, orange juice, coffee and sparkling wine, to the variety of cereal choices and main courses. Brilliant also is that at weekends breakfast is served until 12.30; so a quick visit to the main market (only 5mins. away) or a leisurely stroll along the river (only 3mins. away) can build up an appetite!
Rooms are quite small, but pristine. We had a long weekend break in the city; therefore use and ease for public transport essential. This hotel is ideally located. Only one complaint; pillows too thin!

Room Tip: upgrade room to a larger one if staying for more than a long weekend

An excellent hotel with great staff, great views, and really good, clean rooms. One of our rooms smelt of smoke, but we were offered another one (which was nicer!)The location is perfect for a stay in Budapest, especially as it is near to trams, the underground, and a train. Also, you can walk to many of the sights.

We were in Vienna and decided to take a side trip to Budapest. We booked the Hotel the same day and had no problems finding the hotel or checking in. It has a great room and an excellent breakfest for only 61 euro. However, pay for the parking garage if you drive! I found myself paying 50 euro to get a boot off my car. They say parking is free for the weekend but not all areas are over night. Plus parking is a nighmare. Just pay 23 euro for the garage you can walk to everything in the city from their location anyways.

This hotel is a fair journey from the Central railway station, but we found the metro system in Budapest manageable and convenient. When we arrived, we realised it would have been easy to miss this hotel with its unpretentious signage. However, internally we would find that it had enjoyed an ambitious and successful makeover. The free WiFi was excellent at all times, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing - deep down in the courtyard atrium. We had the very best coffee choice ever and you also chose your own oranges to crush right there. We also enjoyed champagne each morning! Cheeses, cereals, breads and the cooked alternatives were all delightful and of the highest taste quality, served by a young and very professional team, clearly committed to the highest standards. The room itself was a little small, but the walkaround black shower was great, with lots of towels. We loved the welcome of a free drinks invitation on arrival, and the position one street away from the Danube, and just up from an excellent Greek and an even better Italian restaurant, proved really helpful to our dining and visiting plans. The location meant that both Buda and Pest were conveniently local and in walking distance. the Reception staff could do with 'lightening up' a bit and learning about personalisation in client service - rather than just looking cool and talking to each other - but the dining crew were outstanding.

Room Tip: In advance, find out if there are any bigger ones?
