“Cool Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

I'm one of those people that looks at 100 hotels before deciding on which one to book, and as this was for my husbands 40th Birthday, I wanted it to be special, but also a bit different.

We stayed at the The Bohem Art Hotel in late September 2012 and it did not disappoint. We stayed in the 'Art Suite' room 103 and it was just like the pictures. The staff were helpful, friendly and spoke excellent English. The selection of food available at breakfast was very good and freshly squeezed OJ and champers was a nice touch.

The hotel is close to many of Budapest's attractions and its a good idea to get a hop-on hop-off bus ticket to help you get your bearings whilst learning some interesting history of this beautiful city.

We managed to squeeze quite a few 'things to do' in our 48 hours in Budapest - the House of Terror (very sad), Hero's Square, Szechenyi Baths (relaxing), night tour of the city (beautiful), central market (very interesting) to name a few.

Highlights for food, drink and total excitement are:

1. Celeritas Shooting Club - cannot recommend this highly enough! Its rated the number one thing to do in Budapest and I can see why. We did the 'Gamer' package and I still can't believe that I held all those guns in my hand. It was pretty scary (for me, not my husband), but a great thrill!

2. Ruin Pubs - in particular the Szimpla Kert. One of the most amazing, unique bars I have ever been too! Its hard to explain why, you just have to go if you fancy a beer in a cool place!

3. Dinner at Klassz on Andrássy út 41 - the road that people call Budapest's answer to the Champs-Elysées. Lovely little restaurant with great food and great wine. The taster glasses of wine were very generous in size.

I hope this review is helpful to anyone thinking of staying at the Bohem Art Hotel.

Room Tip: 'Art Suite' room 103 was just what we wanted.

Extremely friendly staff. Contemporary design with a modern, bohemic touch. Absolutely smack in the middle of the CBD of Budapest on the Buda side. 1 minute walk to the main shopping street. located on a quiet side-street of the main street in the CBD. A bit difficult with parking but 7-8 minute walk away there's a parking garage. Single rooms quite small but nice interior and comfortable beds. Highly recommended!

We chose to stay here for a couple of nights after a Viking river cruise. Our room was small but very well organized and the bed was terrific. Location for exploring was great. If you are ending or beginning a cruise, I definitely recommend that you take a taxi...Bohem Art Hotel is within easy walking distance from the docking location but NOT with suitcases!

The absolute highlight of this hotel was their amazing breakfast! I'm not kidding. We have traveled all over the world, stayed in some spectacular places and I don't think any lodging provided a better, more interesting breakfast than this little hotel! Nothing is made to order but there are tons of choices, hot and cold, fresh squeezed orange juice.... I'd stay here just for the breakfasts...no kidding!

The folks at the desk were friendly and helpful. They recommended a nearby restauarant, "Chef's Cafe" and made reservations for us. We highly recommend this little hotel. We had no problem with street noise but my guess is that if you really want a quiet room, request an 01 room (501, 601, 701 etc) which faces an inner courtyard.

Very contemporary clean hotel. Well located close to liberty bridge eating areas in the evening. Hotel arranged taxi from airport which worked well and was reasonably priced. Rooms are compact and a little 'ikea ' like but are exceptionally well designed including a fridge. Shower room was great but flooded easily so you need to keep shower mat well positioned as their is no door so blocks water exiting. Only negative for us were that the pillow was a bit flat and not great quality but bed linen clean white great. Breakfast was exceptionally good - great fresh oj good selection of lovely fresh breads and any assortment of other breakfast items. Service was impeccable. Reception great. Ate at cafe chef and Gepard close to hotel - Gepard was fabulous. Would absolutely recommend this hotel .

We stay at Bohem Art Hotel 5 nights and everything was fantastic, by the time we arrive at the hotel by taxi that the reception had booked for us....!
All the staff was really helpful and ready to answer to all our questions and always with a smile!!!
They book for us lovely night crouse in Danube river - a bit expensive but worth it- and also a visit to the parliament!
What can I say about the room..! We had the HIP SUITE and it was nice, clean and comfy and not small for 3 adults /we only were at room to rest!
Breakfast was really really really good for all the tastes.... fresh orange- juices (my favourite!)
Also Bohem Art Hotel had free internet corner and a machine for ice cubes (free). Definatelly we will be back soon!!!
Thank you Bohem Art Hotel Staff for all

We stayed for two nights in October. The rooms are not big but are very nicely finished and very clean. The hotel also offers a very good breakfast and free WIFI. It's also in a really nice locaiton for the sights of Budapest. Would definitely recommend.
