We have just returned from a five day visit to Budapest, made all the more special having stayed at the Prima! The Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Budapest and offers comfort and luxury at an affordable price.
The hotel has the feel of a very modern and slightly over the top design (in a pleasant way) and stands out in a mass of hotels that have no individual identity. Our rooms were spacious and warm and had everything we needed for a city break stay. Even with it's ideal location, the main shopping street to the left of the hotel and the Danube to the right, the hotel is surprisingly quiet of an evening and no sleep was lost as is often the case in a city centre hotel.
There is a free safe in the room which is practical and easy to use and there is a mini bar / fridge. Tea /coffee makers are in the rooms but the beverages need to be paid for. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom and we had a lovely deep bath and powerful shower. An ironing room is also available in the basement with three irons and boards on offer (free too!). There is also a fitness room available though five days walking round Budapest was exercise enough for us!
The breakfast does not vary on a daily basis however with so many choices available you can vary your daily intake by mixing and matching. The usual cereals, cheese and hams, bread and cake selection as well as fresh fruit, yoghurt and cooked scrambled eggs with or without chorizo gave us plenty to play with each morning, as well as fruit juice machine and tea / coffee machine.
Reception organised our taxi transfer from the airport and this was not only cheaper than booking yourself, but was very very efficient and our taxi driver was very co-operative.
On a general note, ALWAYS insist on seeing a pricelist when entering cafes/ restaurants / bars as you can be seriously overcharged if you haven't checked the pricing, likewise do not get into a taxi without questioning the price for your journey or again the driver is in danger of pumping the meter for fun and charging more than the flight to the country! If approached by ladies in the street and asked if you 'have a cityguide', walk on as they are likely to sting you for a trip to a bar and not much else!! LOL
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and stay here on future visits, it was wonderful.
