5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

Excellent meal whether you have raspberry flavoured borscht or cream of pumpkin soup for lunch or veal or steak for an entree. You won,‘t be disappointed. Great vibe + reasonable prices. Open 12-23:30 behind the Central Food Market at Freedom Bridge.

“Decent and interesting restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We sought this place out based on the Trip Advisor reviews. Our hotel was not familiar with it. It is definitely a place for the 30-something set. The owners are clearly trying to take their cooking in innovative directions. The meal was only partly successful. The food was interesting in conception, but the execution was mixed. One main course was over-cooked. The wine list was interesting with an expansive array of Hungarian wines. The restaurant is also a bit out of the way from the normal tourist haunts, but at least one member of the staff spoke pretty good English. The service, while pleasant, was inconsistent and rather inept and detracted from the overall experience. While overall a non unplesant experience, I don't think we would return if we go back to Budapest.

Very fresh and airy interior. Kind service and the meals were excellent, meats so tender that they almost melted in mouth.

“Nice hungarian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012 via mobile

The food and wine werd great. It's a quite short menu to Chose from but it's really recommendable and the price is fair. About 10-15€ for Main course. 2,20€ for a large beer

“A great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We eat at the Borbirosag on our first night in Budapest. We were luck to get a table - others after us being turned away it was so popular. The restaurant is airey and loft-like. The standard menu is short and supplemented by weekly specials. Portions were good and everything we tried was beautifully cooked and presented. The local wine - mid-range - was excellent. Prices were very reasonable and the staff courteous and friendly. We had lunch there again before going to the airport on the day of our departure. Although quieter the atmosphere was still very pleasant, the staff attentive and the food as good as ever.
