This little gem is tucked away down a side street called Magyar Utca on the corner of Mirrors the restaurant of the Astoria Hotel near the Astoria metro station so its easy to get to. You are not likely to stumble across it unless you are looking for it. We went there the first night in Budapest on a recommendation and were very happy with the result. As is our habit on trips we always go on our last night to the best restaurant we found so Ruben's it was.
An extensive menu specialising in Hungarian cuisine, top quality produce accompanied by another extensive wine list and selection of Hungarian beers (Borostuan was my favorite). Excellent decor and atmosphere catering to a varied clientele. The staff are attentive and service excellent with advice on dishes and drinks readily available.
The bill was the biggest suprise on both occasions as it was a lot less than I would normally pay (and happily) for meals and drinks of that quality and standard of service.
Not to missed, highly recommended.
