“Wonderful experience on a budget”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

I'm not really sure what the even faintly negative reviews on this hotel are about -- except from people who want a five-star hotel for a three-star price. Rooms ample, spacious, spotlessly clean, whole place obviously and carefully redone. Smallish, set within a building containing many other businesses and residences. Really very few standard amenities - eg soap, shampoo, a pen - but little surprises like a complimentary bottle of wine and a jacuzzi! Very friendly, helpful staff 24/7, clearly a small, family-run place that takes pride in their work. Yes, the lift is old-fashioned but works fine, yes, the door doesn't look like you've arrived at the Waldorf. But for the money and location and general niceness of it all, I'd go back here any time.

We were two college-aged girls traveling alone and we felt very safe here. Don't be scared off by the outside or the stairs up/lift. The rooms are very clean and pleasant and the staff is friendly and helpful, especially with directions. The door to the building locks at night and opens with your key, as well as the door to the floor of the hotel. Free tea and cookies were great, too!

This little hotel is very nice and cosy, cheap pleasant and the receptionist are kind and polite. It's very clean. Don't hesitate for little travel :-) . You can choose for dubble, or separate beds, the plae is safe and near to the center of the town.

We were in Budapest over New Year's, it was VERY cold outside. The room was really cozy and warm and clean and QUIET. We were so glad to come back to it every day and just relax. We totally took advantage of the jacuzzi and the TV channels to relax. The best part of it is really the location. It is in walking distance to lots of cool bars, restaurants, and not right in the touristy part. We walked around from the hotel and just stumbled on lots of nice Hungarian places and felt like we weren't total tourists. The staff is very friendly and helpful, it has Internet and a car service (we had to leave at some ungodly hour and everything was arranged for us). Would totally recommend it.

My friends and I stayed in panorama central for 4 nights. The stay was very pleasant with clean rooms, we had a bottle of wine in the room to welcome our arrival and there was also a jacuzzi in the bathroom - not sure if only selected bathrooms had a jacuzzi but this was a real bonus as we only booked the standard room so was a nice surprise to see this! wifi was very good and the staff were helpful. The location is great, its only a short 10 minute walk to St. Stephen's Basilica and there are shops and cafes nearby.

This place has plenty to offer in terms of nearby transport, shops, restaurants, bars and sites, especially for the price.

Transport: Deak square, which is the most central metro stop is 1 block away. It is the only stop in Budapest serving all three metro lines
Shops: Vorosmarty square and vacy utca, are 10-15 minutes walk away. Andrassy avenue (Budapest's Champs Élysées) is a 15 minute walk.
Restaurants and bars: the Jewish quarter is across the road, raday utca is 10 minutes walk away
Sites: the opera house is a 20 minute walk away, the largest synagogue in Europe is across the road. It took us 20 minutes to szechenyi baths, door to door, thanks to being so near to Deak square.

As for the rooms, yes the walls are a bit thin so it helps if you're a heavy sleeper. However, we had no issues when we went at the beginning of January. We were also placed in a room with a jacuzzi! (Room 7). My only suggestion to the operators would be to provide a thicker duvet for the double bed and make it a double bed duvet, not two single bed duvets which are a bit thin.

Otherwise, I would echo other comments about the quality of the staff. Super helpful with information and booking stuff. I would definitely stay here again on a trip to budapest!

I liked this place and definitely recommend it! We paid USD 50 per night which is quite good! Our room was a double, it was large with a double spa as well and a strong hot water system. Bathroom was very clean and modern. Unlike the other reviewers, our room was facing the courtyard, far from reception, so we had no issues with noise at night or in the early morning. Our experience was positive! I agree with other reviewers that the outside looks terrible (it's next door to a sex shop). The dark entrance and stairwells, and the creepy 18th century old lift does not look inviting either. However, once you find the place and get inside, the receptionist is really welcoming and friendly and the rooms are clean and inviting. It's no fancy business hotel, but it's very well suited for travellers who are looking for a clean, friendly, simple hotel in a superb location.

Room Tip: Ask for room 7! :)
