I'm not really sure what the even faintly negative reviews on this hotel are about -- except from people who want a five-star hotel for a three-star price. Rooms ample, spacious, spotlessly clean, whole place obviously and carefully redone. Smallish, set within a building containing many other businesses and residences. Really very few standard amenities - eg soap, shampoo, a pen - but little surprises like a complimentary bottle of wine and a jacuzzi! Very friendly, helpful staff 24/7, clearly a small, family-run place that takes pride in their work. Yes, the lift is old-fashioned but works fine, yes, the door doesn't look like you've arrived at the Waldorf. But for the money and location and general niceness of it all, I'd go back here any time.
