“Great hotel, nice modern and clean rooms, good price.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2011

This was a very nice hotel, walking distance to 2 of the bridges to the Buda side. We walked to the Gellart spa from the hotel, as well as other famous sites. The rooms were fairly small but very nicely furnished with wood floors and modern decor. Nice clean bathroom. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had strong A/C and HD flatscreen television. The price was affordable. It was also walking distance to good restaurants. Highly recommended. Free wifi as well.

This is the hotel area of Budapest so watch out for scammers! Do NOT exchange money in the street, show your wallet to alleged "plain clothes police officers investigating counterfeit money", or go for drinks with pretty girls that look like borderline prostitutes - this is an overcharging drinks scam - always check prices on menus before ordering.

This hotel was situated perfectly - only about 50 metres from Vaci Utca and close to the gorgeous surroundings of the Danube (quite far away from andrassy - but I wouldn't consider that a loss).
The room didn't really deserve four stars since I consider it extremely basic - however, I am judging from a scandinavian standard.
The breakfast was OK. The fruit sortiment was poor.
I would recommend it due to the location and the value you get for your money! (We only paid 250 euros for 3 nights!)

The positive aspects are that
- the hotel looks very modern
- the breakfast is good
- it is in the city center
- there is free wifi

What I did not like at all was that
- my bed sheets had big stains on them and a couple of long black hairs
- the room smelled really bad which did not go away even when opening the windows
- the bathtub plug did not work
- the room service did not answer even after a couple of trials
- the TV went quiet every couple of minutes
- they came in when I had the no disturb sign on the door
- they did not give me a map when I asked for a restaurant to have lunch

I told this at the reception and they
- said 'thank you for telling us'
- did not apologize
- did not assure me that someone will take care of it
- did not offer another room

After 4 hours the room still was the same, in the evening when returning they had changed the sheets the bathtub still didn't work.

I think that things like that can happen. I would have given more points if they had gotten it right after I had pointed it out at the reception.

Stayed here for 3 nights in June. With an average cost of around 18,000HUF (£65) per night for a standard double, it was good value for this 4-star hotel. We choose this hotel based on its cost and the fact that it was within walking distance of the main sights and 2 main bar/cafe areas.

The rooms are the standard size for a modern business hotel nowadays. When we inquired about Wi-Fi, we were given a password which allowed us to use it free of charge (including in our room) for our total stay.
Although there was no iron in the room (why don't we do this in Europe?), they did supply one when I asked at reception. Our room had no view as such, though that did not bother us. Although the bathroom is small, it was adequate and the shower was powerful.

We didn't eat in the Hotel, so cannot comment of that. There is also a trendy looking bar attached to the hotel, though we didn't try that either. There are plenty of cafes/bars near by.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a base for a short tourist visit to Budapest.

We have just returned from a few days visit to Budapest. The hotel is in a great location. It's only a few minutes walk to the river. You can get to the Metro easily or catch a bus/tram close to the hotel. Use the number 2 tram at night for a great view of the beautiful illuminations along the river. The 3 or 7 day travel ticket is great value. The hotel itself is very modern and smart. It has a very tranquil atmosphere with interesting water features in the lobby.
Our room on the top floor was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. Desk staff were helpful, efficient and very polite. The buffet breakfast was very good with enough of a choice for the many nationalities staying there. Across the street & round the corner there is a great little cafe/bar called Puskin. A great place to relax with a glass of wine after your busy day's sightseeing.
A trip to the museum at Andrassy Avenue is an absolute must. It is an amazing place dedicated to Hungary's political past. The exhibits are imaginative, troubling and deeply moving.

First of all me and 3 friends booked a triple room only to find that this includes '2 singles' and then a basic camp bed which was extremely uncomfortable and then made the room very squashed with 3 people in it!
I complained and was offered free drinks as they wouldn't provide another room for us, this was appreciated except for the fact we didn't drink beer! This ultimately ruined the beginning of a birthday weekend away and was quite simply not what we wanted!

The breakfast was pretty average, some things available 1 day & then not the next. The best thing about this hotel is probably the location but I wouldn't stay here again.

Room Tip: Get on a room away from the main road..
