“Great location Excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Most previous reviewers have got this Hotel absolutely right. It is located 10 mins. walk away from the Parliament building, 5 mins. from the river Danube and 5 mins. from the metro and tramline junction and mainline train station at Nyugati making all of the major tourist sites readily accessible. The Red Line hop on hop off tour bus stops at Parliament and at List Ferenec Ter both of which are within easy walking distance.
The Hotel itself has been recently modernized with fully tiled ensuite bathrooms and a good air conditioning system. We had a room on the fourth floor which was kept very clean and afforded a good night’s sleep. One small criticism; the television only had CNN and Bloomberg English speaking channels no BBC world!
Breakfast was normal for Europe lots of bread and croissants etc but only scrambled or boiled eggs with machine made coffee (OK ) and lukewarm do it yourself Tea ( Yeuk ).
The staff were very helpful and all spoke good English.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor

Stayed for 3 nights in Budapest in May and am so pleased I chose this hotel. The location is great - only a short walk to trams, metro and buses. Booking a taxi through the hotel was actually cheaper than booking one on-line which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were very helpful and the 2 evening meals I had there were excellent. Sadly the same cannot be said about the lunch on the final day which was dreadful - the lasagne was still frozen in the middle and when it was returned after 're-warming in the microwave', the cheese had turned to inedible rubber and it was still stone cold in the middle! I am sure the resident chef must have been on a day off! Personally, I found the breakfasts had plenty of choice and the atrium is a nice airy place to eat. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and strongly recommend that anyone staying in Budapest for only a few days, try the 'Hop on Hop off' bus - it's fantastic value with a second day free and includes a couple of boat trips.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the atrium

Booked on-line and based on revues on here ( which have been mixed), too say it was good value for money is an understatement.
Great location 10 minutes walk from Parliament and St Margarets Bridge, 5 mins from the Metro and a variety of trams plus the bus stop for the Tour Bus which travels around the City.
The room was vastly superior to one we stayed at in Paris and was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and offred a good nights sleep. The staff were helpful all spoke good English and arranged tours for us and taxis as required.
The room was made up every day, fresh towels placed and room cleaned, cream carpets were interesting and myself wouldn't have in a hotel as they mark so easily. The decor was interesting with a gothic theme throughout the hotel in what is a contempoary hotel.
Breakfast was ok, not tremendous choice but perfectly edible. If you want a full English every day then you may be disappointed (but you are in Budapest) but pastries, fruit etc.
We also ate dinner there on first night good value pizza and Pasta, toether wirg reasonabke prices for drinks in a hotel.

Budapest itself fantastic, so much to see and do, three days and need a day to recover.
Don't organise a transfer from the Uk, take the airport taxi POtaxi from the airport it only costs £15 and they arrange the transfer back as well, it is a thoirty min drive or much longer on bus and tram and a hastle.

Cuisine great try the Goulash soup, highlights, Opera Visit, New York Cafe, River dinner cruise amongst others.
The Holocaust Museum is not in many books but well worth the visit, find the memorila to those who lost their lives in the war to the facists with shoes adjacent to the river. Buda offers great views and make sure that you ask normal taxi drivers the prices for a journey as ome unlicensed ones rip you off.

All in all good hotel greta City.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for!!

Went last September on a whim based on a bargain we got from KGB deals. First time in Budapest. The hotel was very clean, very newly renovated, the street it was on left a little to be desired but it did the job and was relatively central. Comfy beds, gorgeous furnishings. Corridors could do with recarpeting as they didn't think it through when they laid a light coloured one but everything else lovely. Breakfast good, a wide variety of options for different cultures.

There was only the junior suite available as we arrived un announced so we got it and we really like it. Very nice design. Clean. Nice facilities. Location depends on what you want to fo but its not really too far from most points of interest. There is a wonderful local restaurant close but i have to check my old papers for its name. Will definetly stay there again.

I really couldn't fault this hotel. I've just come back from a 3 night stay at the Marmara and I found it to be just what I needed! Well I notice people are complaining about the food. OK the breakfast could be more varied, but there were about 10 or more things on offer and I can't believe anyone could be hungry at the end of the meal. You can't expect English food in a Hungarian hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and took time out to tell me all the tram nos. and bus numbers etc. I needed. I had no problems at all with dirty sheets, it was a lovely clean room and cleaned every day. Fabulous location, especially for the green belt of Margaret Island (about 10 minutes away), trams 2 minutes away! I had two dinners in the hotel whilst there and both were excellent. If you don't take WIFI there is a computer in the glass roofed breakfast room. Toiletries were replenished each day. I also liked the gold and black decor, a very modern hotel. I slept like a log whilst there, very quiet indeed and had a room facing the atrium.

at this hotel on these reviews! OK the breakfast could have been more varied

Room Tip: I would try and get a room facing the atrium. The hotel is a short walk from the main boulevard bu...
