A nice hotel to stay while in Budapest. It is very convenient to the city sights. It is in the Parliament area about two blocks down from the Margaret Bridge. The metro station is close by which was very easy to use. The West End shopping Mall is a short walk down through the underpass of the Metro Station. There is a buffet breakfast with hot and cold dishes. We were there for four nights but were only given one shower gel... should have asked for more but didnt bother, just bought our own.

If you want a reasonably priced hotel in Budapest I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel was one of the nicest surprises I have had for a long time from the moment we got out of the taxi it was a pleasure a young man in uniform opening the hotel door helping the wife with her luggage. a massive smile at the booking in counter ever helpful. imaculately clean lobby and lift. the room was so clean and the bathroom spacious, unfortunately no sky tv but the town is so interesting not a problem. Have the breakfast its a lovely fresh continental that is kept fresh all the time, nothing too much trouble. the position in town is perfect just down a quiet side street, no noise but turn right out of hotel walk 50 yards your in main rd. turn left walk 2 hundred yards and your on the danube. turn right onto main rd walk to main junction with fly over look behind you okay italian restaurant, if your hungry go in there its great. special tip use there cab service back to the airport very posh cars.

Room Tip: all good rooms no advice

Spent four nights at this excellent hotel in February. Extremely good value and very well located in Pest, near all the main sights. Friendly staff, good continental breakfast (including scrambled egg, fruit etc) and in our case, a very good deal whereby the transfer from the airport was included in the room rate. Only complaint was the warmth of the rooms - as others have noted. If you open the windows, you hear the extractor fans - it's something we've encountered before and it's not a deal-breaker for us. All in all, an extremely good-value hotel in a great position. During your stay in Budapest do try and catch a performance at the Opera House, and go to one of the thermal baths. And to eat, Hungarian Kitchen 21 in Pest is hard to beat - in a quiet street near the Castle and with a nice little sun-trap of a patio.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the central atrium are quieter, although you might hear the extractor fans if you...

Room was ok, we had to request a different one due to a loud buzzing/humming sound from the aircon. The receptionist wasn't too eager to fix this at first, but with a bit of persuasion was rectified.
No tea or coffee in the room, surprisingly, though you could purchase it from reception.
Breakfast was continental standard. No English breakfast (very strange, have never stayed in a hotel that didn’t have it), coffee was appalling.
Have the Gluhwein if you fancy a nice drink we free tangerine and little biscuits.
Location couldn’t be faulted, about ten minutes walk from Nyugati train station.
Staff could do with a customer service course then I would definitely stay there again.
If you want a hotel for just a bed to stay in at the end of the day then book away.

Extremely efficient taxi office just outside the airport, you tell them where you want to go and they print off price(which was very reasonable into the city centre) then you hand this to specially allocated taxi driver who knows how much it will cost because you have receipt! No getting ripped off!!! Hotel fantastic location, right in the City Centre. Nice hotel, room was nice size, bathroom lovely and shower superb! Kettle and cups provided, we took our own supply of T-bags. Only one little grumble, room was very warm, opened window couple of times but room 303 facing road so we did hear the traffic unfortunately. Breakfast fab, something for everyone, great selection. We love walking so visited all the tourist sights on foot. You can do open bus tour, they have a red and yellow route and we basically walked them both over the 3 days. Parliament building, Heroes square, New York Cafe and Hospital in the Rock are a few of many things we saw. There is also a River Ride you can do, bus that travels down the Danube-3 hour tour £16 each funny to see, but like the Duck Tour you can do on The River Thames. Food and drink was very nice. We ate in a couple of restaurants near the hotel, one of which was the Red Pepper, recommend soup in the roll-fabulous and very filling! Local Spar near by in case you need to purchase anything. Overall had a wonderful city break and would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

A lovely hotel really near the metro or train station. The hotel was clean and the rooms were a good size with a lovely en suite. a massive shower with hairdryer etc. as others have mentioned there is tea and coffee making facilities but you need to take your own tea bags or coffe. there is a fridge and a Spar at the metro station to get fresh milk very reasonably. we had an early flight from Stansted but were able to check in at about 12.30. We had a room facing the atrium which was very quiet. The rooms were very warm and I found myself opening the window on occasions!!! Breakfast was tasty with hot food, lots of different breads, cheeses, cerearls and nice fresh fruit as well as every sort of tea you could want.

Room Tip: Those facing the atrium were recommended in previous reviews and ours was very quiet

The best thing about the marmara in Budapest is the prime location, it's bang in the centre of the city....great to be near all bars and restaurants and close to all the attractions, house of terrors, st Margaret's bridge, parliament buildings all within 10-15 min walks, we had a smallish cosy very warm room, kept nice and clean....cd not believe the heat of the room, continental breakfast in mornings was pretty good, and cd have it delivered to room if need be. Only downside for us was that we had a double bed, but both had single duvets under sheeting, found this quite strange but as room was so warm, half the time did not need anything covering us. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and all in all enjoyed our stay at the marmara....me and partner enjoyed the culture of Budapest and the snow lol :-)
