“Nice hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We stayed in the Marama Hotel for 3 nights in October on a B&B basis and found it to be a very nice place. the staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to directions, etc. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor which was fine - carpets could do with renewing but the room was clean and a good size. TV for English speaking channels was limited to CNN - but you don't spend that much time watching TV in your room anyway do you? Breakfast was buffet style and things ran out quickly - they were replenished straight away so no problem there. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and in Budapest - we would recommend both for a long weekend if you get the chance - some great restaurants and a lot to see and do.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors tend to be a bit quieter.

Lovely hotel in the back streets but close to all sites 10 mins walk to Parliament and 5 mins from Danube.
Breakfast huge variety and good quality all self service.
Rooms large and well furnished, some with an internal view
Staff very helpful as we need to reprint our flight voucher
Bar service excellent.
We had lovely hot weather and spent all days exploring this lovely city. Used every mode of transport , underground, open top bus and tram. Will return

Room Tip: I did not see any with a view

I stayed there in October 2012. It's a small cozy, boutique hotel, located next to the western station. Transportation to the airport is very easy through metro line 3 and then the 200 bus. I absolutely loved the decor of this hotel, and clearly it seems that a considerable amount of money was spent in order to achieve this.
I stayed in room 523, which was excellent. Breakfast could be better, but anyway it was good. However, they must change ASAP their coffee provider, because coffee was awful.
I would return back to this hotel, because it has character and it's not like a soulless 4 star hotel. Budapest is a beautiful city and you can walk to the center, especially on the river side. In 5 minutes you will find the parliament and you are in the center of the action.

Its a neat boutique hotel, located very near the Nyugati Railway station. Several museums, Parliament house, west end shopping center, metro, bus stops are all within convenient walking distance. The staff at the reception are friendly and very responsive. We had a clog in our shower which was cleared within minutes of our complaining. The gentlemen at the reception were friendly and very helpful with directions and other information we seeked.
The staff at breakfast are indifferent and not as friendly. I would call the resturant staff cold.
The room we stayed in was small but comfortable. Though it overlooked the street, it was not noisy at all.
What I did not like about the hotel was - they had a tea/coffee maker in the room but there were no tea bags, coffee/milk satchets or sugar. When we informed the housekeeping about it, they said they'll charge us 5 Euros for the pack. This was ridiculous....being a 4 star they dont have the facility to have tea in your room without paying for it......Quite absurd!!

Reception area nice. Corridor and room carpets need cleaning. Bedding needs replacing. Breakfast adequate - bananas cut in half and only a 2 slice toaster which takes ages to toast! Staff at breakfast not very friendly. However, room cleaned well every day and bathroom shower was brilliant! Well situated and good value for money.

We went to Budapest with a Groupon deal and so we were surprised at the quality of the hotel. This hotel had good sized rooms and bathroom and the breakfast was adequate. Service was very good, the staff were quick to help us on several occasions. It was a five minute walk from the Parliament building and there were plenty of restaurants and corner shops very close by on the road leading up to Margaret Bridge. We walked everywhere from this hotel which made our stay much cheaper as we did not need to pay for transport. I would stay here again because the location meant that we could walk everywhere and enjoy wonderful Budapest.

Wonderful Hotel, walking distance (if you can walk) from most places. The metro is not far from the Hotel and the hop on hop off bus not far. Rooms were very nice and clean. Being a single traveller I had a double room. Breakfast was typically continental but all you need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend this Hotel. There is a bar which was open quite late each night if you wanted to have a drink and a very friendly barman. If you wanted somethi8ng to eat at lunch time (snack) it could be provided but there was no dinner at night but there are plenty of lovely restaurants around.

Room Tip: This Hotel is in a side street off the main road so it was not noisy at all.
