After reading great reviews we had very high expectations for this restaurant, but it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. My wife and I shared the roasted Foie Gras for a starter, and this dish was quite good (even though the fennel boiled in orange had lost all taste of fennel, and tasted pure orange ). For the main course we both had pheasant, and was served a lump of mashed potatoes with three (!) pheasant breasts on top, a litte bit of a sauce on the side and nothing else. No vegetables. We had read that Tigris was serving modern Hungarian food, but there was nothing modern about this dish. The mashed potatoes was very heavy and tasted fatty. The pheasant was really dry, the sauce didn't taste anything, there was no sweetness and no acidity. We could barely finish half the meal. There was no sign of elegance or finess, and the dish was really bad. I can't remember ever having had a worse dish in any restaurant.
Service from both waiters and the sommelier was good, and based on the other rewiews we must have been unlucky. But from what we saw as well, I think this restaurant works best for people who like simple, traditional food served in large portions.
