We got great vibes practically the instant we walked in, and at no point were we disappointed. True to it's name, the whole place had a very groovy feel to it, especially the living room and kitchen area which gave the impression that a lot of thought was put into the decor. As a bonus, there was also a cute loft area with a DVD player and a Playstation 2 to spend a night or two (bring drinks, preferably Tokaji!). The balcony area overlooking the street was a great touch and definitely worth spending a few hours chilling at. The rooms and bathrooms were also clean and well-maintained, plus nicely furnished as well.
The staff were also extremely friendly and accomodating, and recommended to us many great eateries nearby. Of particular note is Kino cafe just downstairs - great breakfast sets and cheesecakes at amazing prices! Definitely ask for a breakfast discount card from the hostel staff and give it a try (10% if I remember correctly). In any case, the hostel is conveniently located near a Metro station and close to the city center to boot.
On the other hand, if you're the sort of traveller who likes making new friends and prefers a lively hostel atmosphere, then this might not be for you. Reason being that it was pretty quiet when we were there (at least compared to the hostels in Bratislava and Frankfurt we stayed at). The lack of a hostel bar probably contributes to this. However, if you like a quiet place with great decor and vibes, then look no further. Highly recommended and I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Budapest next summer.
