“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

Everything about this hotel is great. The location is perfect for exploring the city. The decor is fabulous and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Our room was very comfortable, with a fantastic shower. ( and softer pillows were provided when asked for) Breakfast was excellent, well cooked, with great variety. The staff could not do enough for us. The free coffee/water/snacks until 5pm was a nice extra and the cocktails were pretty good too! Excellent value for money. We would happily recommend it.

We had a lovely time in the Palazzo Zichy. The staff are a credit to this hotel. Lovely rooms, even though a little bit on the tight side. Facilities as well as lovely breakfast menu. Great spot in great location.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a spacious room the Superior-type room may not be big enough for you. Maybe y...

The Palazzo Zichy was excellent throughout our short (three nights) stay for Valentines weekend. The reception staff were unfailingly helpful, changing our room (the initial offering was a little disappointing - inward facing and rather dark) without complaint or fuss, and booking restaurants and airport transfers with friendly efficiency. We loved room 509 looking out into Lorinc pap ter and over the church. Good beds, cool bathrooms, free afternoon tea/coffee/water and a superb breakfast completed the deal. The location is good too, near to both Kalvin Ter and Astoria metro stations; it is also easy to walk round the city. We booked a package including a ticket for the Szecheny spa baths and a hop on hop off city tour. The baths are superb and a real must, although next time I would take something to wear on my feet for going outside! The hop on hop off tour is actually a two day ticket which can be used to get around the city (wasn't clear from the website when we booked) and was good value, although out of season the bus times are very limited so we still needed to buy metro/tram tickets which was easy and inexpensive. No hesitation in recommending Palazzo Zichy.

Room Tip: I'd go for higher floor with a view out, just my preference.

The title says it all really. The staff here are friendly and always willing to help. The lounge area, lobby and all other areas of the hotel are spotless and well kept and the decor is nothing short of amazing.

Fantastic value for money and I loved my room, the bed and shower especially.

Would recommend and I will be coming back!

Don't let the location put you off, its a small walk to Astoria and other central parts of the city, but its a quiet neighborhood with no late night/early morning disturbances.

Having just come back from Budapest we stayed at the Hotel Palazzo Zichy, the location is pretty good few minutes and you are in the main area of Budapest.

The room was clean and confortable, the only let down is the bathroom door! made of glass and does not fully close. I appreciate that its a new trends but a proper and solid bathroom door is a must! also our door was just next the bed, there are other rooms that have the door in the corridor leading to the bedroom which is a bit better.

On arrival we asked if our room had a nice view and the front office agent very proptly checked and then allocated a room wiht a view over the little square.
There is a bar that during the day offers free water and coffee (nice touch)

Breakfast in the morning was good, a nice selection of both hot and cold items (self service) buffet, the staff in the restaurant are very friendly and helpful. my partner was not feeling well so i asked if i could have room service brought up, by the time I finished my breakfast the waiter had a tray ready with a selecdtoin of items and brought it up for me.

I went to the gym, very small and would need few more equipments and heavier weithghts there was only a bycecly and tredmill.

if you are looking for a place to eat i would highly reccomande the restaurant on the square (Matrjoska)
nicely decorated, good service and great food.

Room Tip: the rooms facing the square have a nice view

As you can see from other reviews this really is an Excellent hotel. If you are Travelling to Budapest look no further than this Hotel for your stay.
Rooms are very comfortable and you get a very nice breakfast in the morning & free tea, coffee & water in the afternoon.
The Hotel is in a good location just a few minutes walk to the river and has a good selection of restaurants within walking distance.
We like to be able to browse a few restaurants before choosing where to Eat & the Hotel recommended Raday street as having a good selection, this was only 10 minutes walk away and as they had said we found several to choose from.
We thoroughly enjoyed Budapest and when we return we will definitely return to the Palazzo Zichy.
