“Favorite Hostel in Europe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2014

Of all the hostels I've stayed at in Europe (around 25).. 11th Hour definitely ranks right near the top, the dorm rooms are nice and the bathrooms are great. But what seperates 11th Hour is the atmosphere they create, the courtyard and move room are really spectacular. The kitchen and dining area isn't huge, but just the right size. The staff are nice and helpful. Alot of interesting people stay here and you will be missing out if you don't give 11th Hour a shot, loved it!!

Tried to call 7 times to make a resevation, no answer, ended up just arriving only to find the black haired receptionist so indifferent and antipathic just kept chatting with her two friends. Worst welcome ever. even called again while there to make sure i had the right number. the phone rang just next to her.
Dont care how cheap it is, we just grab our backpacks and walked out.

My first stay in a hostel ever and this one made a really good impression. I didn't expect a hostel to be that clean and comfortable for the money I paid (about 5,5 euro per night, 7 bed dorm). For party there's a pub crawl every night. Met a lot of great people.
Clean, cheap, free coffee and tea, nice staff.

Despite been a really cheap hostel, its a comfortable one! Don't expect a fancy environment, everything is very simple, but very clean! The staff is very helpful, just the night girl was a bit unpleasant! I stayed in the 10 bed room, and i felt really good to be there. Nice toilets, nice bed, the neighborhood is quiet, despite been in a central area! The hostel is very well located, we didn't need to take trams or buses at all! The cinema is a great option or chilling and the kitchen is also very helpful.
Overall is a great choice!

The others reviews on here made me want to come to this hostel but I was a bit disappointed.

The staff were pretty good, nice woman & guy in the mornings but grumpy girl in the evenings.

The bathrooms were good, especially considering the amount of people in a dorm. But there was a bit of a grimy feel to the rest of the hostel.

The location was great for metro & general walking distance.

Good for price with regards to bed, shower & location.

As a poor student stranded in Budapest for a few nights, 11th Hour Hostel was a lifesaver. The staff went out of their way to help me find a way home (let me use the phone and internet after check-out). Barney (sp?) was an especially helpful guy. Although I was a solo traveller, I never felt lonely. There seemed to always be a friendly to talk to in the downstairs lounge. Even sleeping in a co-ed 7-person room, I felt safe with my roommates. The free tea/coffee and kitchen allowed me to make meals cheaply. The best aspect, though, was the luggage room. After checkout, I left my things there so that I could sightsee during the day until I moved to my next place. Excellent experience overall.

We stayed at 11th hour for 2 nights and were made to feel very welcome. It's a nice big building that means you get more personal space than other places we've stayed.

The cinema room is a nice touch, but get there early if you want to choose the film. It's very popular!

The dorm we stayed in had its own bathroom and kitchen area, but there was no hob, kettle or even cutlery. It didn't make any sense to go to the effort to install a kitchen that then can't be used.

The main kitchen is off reception and if you wanted to cook it could feel very obtrusive, as there's no divider.
