“where else...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

...could you get a three course tourist menu in central Budapest for about £3 ?? I went to have lunch with a friend in early October, we chosen dishes from the menu. Huge portions all round. The waiter not only served us well but had a sense of humour too. It's not easy to find ( behind the National Museum) but worth searching for. We paid a total of under £20 for lunch and drinks for two. And it tasted fab too! All that for sitting under a huge orginal Kovacs Margit mural, not bad !
Well recommended.

“Nice place to hide out and chill”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We found this on our way home from dinner one night when we were too full to go in and then had a bit of trouble locating it again when we wanted to go. It is a really cute garden and basement bar which is home to some architect society. Nice ambience and the big historic tiled piece on the back wall is really cool. It wasn't busy when we stopped in for a light lunch, but it gets quite lively in the evenings. I had a nice Greek salad but my partner's Greek salad was average. Our wines and beers were both good. Sophisticated venue that best suits a mature, arty crowd.

“best restaurant in Budapest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

This restaurant is a bit hard to find but just behind the touristy restaurants by the National Radio and museum. walking distance from the larger mall with all the souvenirs. The food was the best I had in all of Europe. The owner speaks perfect English, so easy to communicate. Both the outdoor seating and the indoor seating is beautiful. I loved everything, especially the lemonade and the fish dishes, and the salad dishes! Well worth finding this spot and eating all your Budapest meals here. So much more affordable than the tourist restaurants and SO much better! It's good for the vegetarian or meat eater. Easy to bike to or walk after getting off public transport. Cool artist studio in the courtyard. A must for Budapest restaurants!

“Great setting & great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Just had a lovely evening in "the architects caller". The location is very low key, so it is quite easy to miss when you walk past. You can either eat outside in An old enclosed courtyard or in the minimalist cellar (that has a bit of history to it). My wife and I had the goose and wondered why we don't have it at home. The whole family liked it so much that we are going back tomorrow night - something we never normally do!
