“Had me a Goat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2014

In all honesty we genuinely choose this hostel because they had a goat as a profile picture.
We had hoped to enjoy Budapest with goats, however probably due to hygienic reasons there were none. But plenty of pictures of them, which was just as good!

After a fairly party-ish hostel (Munich Wombat) this hostel was so chilled out. Great location. Easy to get there from the train station and the staff there was amazing! So friendly and so helpful.
You get a FREE basic breakfast from the very basic kitchen.
Its not the most luxurious of hostels, its a bit mix-match but the price is so unbelievable its so worth it.
Security wasn't the best for personal items. We couldn't lock our room, and only had one lock (Provided by ourselves) for money, ipods, phones etc. However the security of getting into the hostel was perfectly adequate, and there was always a Goat employee to guard/greet you at the door.
I never felt worried leaving my belongings there and I had no problems, but I would recommend to being a lock, just in case.

Overall it was such a nice and relaxing atmosphere that you just forget about your lack of Hungarian language skills. I want to visit Budapest again & I'll definitely be Goating it again.

Room Tip: Bring a lock for your locker.

My first impressions of this hostel weren't great; it's quite dated, but as soon as ild settled it was ideal. Road is quite noisy especially as the trams pass from very early morning, the room was quite hot and the lockers aren't very big. However staff are friendly, showers are great and location definitely makes it worth staying here.

Great location. Close to the city market, to the subway, and walking distance to many attractions.
The owners were very nice and held our room even thought we were pretty late and had not sent any email telling them we were late.
The hostel is small, so the bathroom per person ratio is good. They also cleaned the bathrooms many times per day, so you never had the impression you were sharing it with people.

Room Tip: We chose the double private. Great view, nice bay window, close to the bathroom.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel. Great value, with nice amenities for a hostel. The staff was absolutely fantastic! I couldn't have asked to have nicer individuals helping me during my journey. The went above and beyond their need for service. Will stay again if I make it back to Buda!

The Hostel is a great deal.100%. Perfect location: very near the blue line metro station, which you can get from bus stop 200E to city center. Great staff: they are very helpful, always been nice and polite. They can provide you with all the informations regading good places to visit, how to get there and others things. Comfort and safe place to stay: The hostel is simple, but very cleaning, cozy and relaxing place. Even with the noise from main street outside it was not a problem to sleep.

Room Tip: I stayed in female dorm. w 5 bed. it was ok. all with locker.

This is a superb hostel in a brilliant location in Budapest. The staff at the hostel were really friendly, the hostel was very clean, quiet and provided a good nights sleep. Would have no hesitation staying here again when we next visit Budapest!

Room Tip: We had a double private room facing the street but had no issues with noise.

A great small non-party hostel. Very relaxed atmosphere, clean and quiet. The guys who run this place are awesome, very nice and helpful people. Surprisingly inexpensive for the quality of the accommodations and you can pay in either Euro or Forint.

The rooms are quiet (even the street facing room I was in), the beds are comfortable, you are provided with a free towel, wifi, maps, simple breakfast in the morning and coffee/tea all day.

The location is right next to the river, a subway line and a tram line, so getting anywhere is simple. Walking distance to the main tourist nightlife area and "ruin bars" is about 10 minutes. Walking to Castle Hill from this hostel is also perfect because the hostel 2 minutes from the main market and you can continue along the river and across the Chain Bridge to get there. Additionally, a great place that brews about fifteen different varieties of their own beer, Élesztő, is just a short walk south-east.

There are two bathrooms, two showers, the hostel only holds about fifteen people so there was never an issue with this. There is an option for laundry, two computers for guest use and a balcony for smoking. They also have a large common area for hanging out, reading, or meeting other guests.

This is a very mellow and friendly place that became the basis for hostels I have been looking for in other cities since.

Room Tip: I stayed in the street side, north-facing six bed dorm at the end of the hall with the showers/bathr...
