Kind receptionists, they are very friendly and helpfull. The hotel is located close to everything in Pest, in a very safe neighbourhood. The room is basic but you have everything you need. The room is clean and big enough. At arrival the hotel offers you a bottle of wine. And at the reception you can get free coffee, tea and water with biscuits.
The breakfast is across the street in a nice bistro. The staff overthere is also very friendly. You can choose between 5 dishes.
If we would go back to Budapest, we would for sure choose Budapest City Central again!

The hotel is very well located, close to many sights. The staff was nice and helpful. I booked a double bed in my reservation but they gave me a single bed. The tile floor is cold in winter time but there were no slippers. The room at the reception level was noisy when there were people talking at the front desk. The pros are it is cheap and well located.

Room Tip: Ask for one that is not on the front desk level. When there were some people talking, you could hear...

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in early April 2014. It is located in a beautiful old building that also houses apartments, offices, etc. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful (and seemed to enjoy my attempts at speaking Hungarian). We took full advantage of some of the guidebooks they have.

The room was small and simple but comfortable. Our room was on the inner side of the building, so not much view but very quiet. There was a complementary bottle of wine provided (one thing we learned in Budapest is the Hungarians make really good wine). They have a little kitchen area at the front desk with coffee, cookies, etc. One suggestion: add in-room fridges.

The location is fantastic: right on the metro and you can walk to most sights in 15 min or less. For the price and location this is a great hotel.

We liked the hotel and the staff especially. The hotel is located near the metro station "Astoria" - You can go any destination by metro and even a tram from here. The staff is very polite and high qualifired. We appreciated so much their knowledge of English language and of course they are reliable upon any request immediately. Our staying in Budapest City Cetral was a real garantee and a good base for our journey in Budapest. Tatiana and Igor, Russia, Vladimir Region.

Room Tip: If You want to go sightseeing in Budapest surely choose Budapest City Central!!! BUDAPEST CITY...

It is one of the most beautiful city I had visited . I have travelled to many cities around the world and I must said this is the most beautiful , clean , full of handsome architecture and the Hungarians are polite people , no hassling toward tourists ! The local cuisine very tasty . I stayed in Kempinski Hotel which is also very comfortable .In fact the whole short holiday was enjoyable . I would highly recommend anyone to go for City Break in such a beautiful city .
I love the scenery when I stood at Pest side looking across the River toward Buda at night with LED lighting at Buda Castle .

This is a a no frills hotel but good value. Great central location, close to sights and the hop on off bus. It is situated in a lovely old building which makes you feel part of Budapest street life.

The staff at this establishment are exceptionally nice and welcoming. There is water, teas coffee and biscuits which you can help yourself to at any time in the reception area. This is great when you wander back exhausted pre your 'out for dinner' change and shower. An unexpected bonus which meant a lot.

Good size bright clean and warm room, piping hot water, nice staff, hot drink or water available 24 hours, good location, good value. Great for a short break.

Two cafes next to the hotel provided breakfast in exchange for the vouchers the hotel provided. This was not a problem both were nice and it made a change from hotel dining rooms. Got you out and about great start to the day.

The rooms (we were in room 2) next to reception are to be avoided they are very noisy with the all night traffic and trams. However, I did not complain or ask for a move which could have been an option. I do not think this would have been a problem for the young who would have participated in Budapest night life! I like to go to bed before midnight!

This hotel is not for people who like a reliable standard such as Premier Inn type chain hotels. It is not for the timid tourist who likes brightly lit foyers. It is not for very old people. It is quirky and may have limitations for some but I would stay here again without any hesitation, it was different, it suited me.

Room Tip: Do not let my comments put you off. This is a central city hotel and traffic noise is to be expecte...

We booked a deal through Expedia that gave us flight and rooms here for a ludicrously low price. The hotel is hard to find, but it's perfectly adequate for a city break. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. It is also brilliantly located for the city center, Andrassy Avenue, Erzsébet Square, the river etc. You can get a shuttle bus to and from the airport for very cheap. No breakfast laid on but you can buy 3 euro breakfast vouchers for nearby cafes. If you buy these, make sure you order the more expensive breakfasts! If you order a cheap breakfast, it costs you more to buy the voucher than the breakfast is worth (once you take out all the non-optional extras that I didn't want, like orange juice, bread and salad)!

I have two small issues with this hotel that caused me to knock off a point:

- One, I didn't think the bedding was adequate. We had booked a double room and got two singles pushed together, which always annoys me. There was one thin padded quilt per bed, rather than one large quilt, and then one thin blanket per bed which was only big enough to cover the foot of the bed. I was cold every night when we stayed in November because of this, and there were no heating controls in the room that I could find. Also, there were three pillows between two people??

- Two, no drinks making facilities in the room. It makes such a difference in the morning if you can make a cup of coffee or tea but there were no kettles or drinks. Instead, you had to dress and walk all the way to the reception, which kind of defeats the purpose of a cup of tea in bed. I understand that it's a budget hotel but I've never stayed anywhere without a kettle before.

I would still recommend it to friends, but be aware that it's not exactly the Ritz!

Room Tip: If you want peace and quiet in the early, ask for a room that doesn't face onto the courtyard. O...
