“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

Glad we found this hotel. Several friends and I stayed here when we completed a river cruise. It's location is right in the middle of good eats, sights, and transportation to other parts of the city. The reception staff (especially Daniel) were very helpful in getting us to where we wanted to be. Would recommend this find to all my friends and would stay here on a return trip.

We stayed here on two different occasions this fall. City Central had sent us detailed directions on how to get to the hotel from the train station and the directions were perfect.

Zsuzsi at reception greeted us warmly, gave us some discount coupons for the Bali restaurant across the street and helped us get oriented. All the staff members we met were extremely kind and helpful.

Our standard double room was roomy, clean and comfortable and came with a bottle of wine. On our second stay, the housekeeper remembered us and had a little gift waiting for us in our room.

The Central is within easy walking distance to the Chain Bridge and other popular sites, and is a few steps to the Astoria metro station. If we are fortunate enough to travel to Budapest again, we will most certainly stay here.

I was very pleased with the location, security and cleanliness of the room. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast was 3 Euro at a little café on the corner. Excellent price for what was served. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was located in a great location and compared to the other hotels in the area, was a good value. However, it was very average. The room was small and not plush. Tiny bathroom. The TV and air worked well. I probably would not stay here again just due to the size of my room for the money paid. The staff was nice though and helpful.

We booked this hotel based on the tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed.

Here are the plus points;
Excellent location for sightseeing
Very friendly, helpful staff on reception 24/7
Secure rooms
Very clean throughout
Comfortable beds (firm mattress)
Good size bathroom
Power shower - not a dribble like some places
Excellent air-con, the room was cool but never noisy.

I would gladly book this hotel again.

Room Tip: The people running the place are all local so do ask them about things to see/do they have lots of h...

I stayed there for 2 nights (14.-16.08.13) and the Hotel was more than I expected for that money. It's not a five-star+ hotel but a very nice and clean place with an excellent location in the center of Budapest. I would always come there again.
BTW: I found it rather easy to find if you just follow the instructions on the bottom of the hotels website (http://www.budapestcitycentral.com)

Stayed here for 5 nights around the Hungarian Grand Prix
Many things were good but a few things could have been better
It was nowhere near as hard to find as I worried it may be from previous reviews. It is on Karoly Korut and access is next to a Telenor shop on a very busy road. Plenty of signposts and instructions on how to gain access and we had no problems even though we arrived at 11.30 at night.
Lifts are brand new if a tad small and it is fascinating to see what is behind the front of the building
Reception staff all spoke excellent English, were very helpful and the room was well cleaned.
We stayed in room 10 which did not have any working air conditioning, no safe and a non flat screen tiny portable 14 inch screen TV. I should have checked myself about the safe but would have thought today that a flat screen TV would be standard
It is in an ideal location beside the great synagogue/Jewish Quarter and a short 5-10 minute walk to the Danube and centre areas and has two hop on hop off bus stops around the corner.
Breakfast at the cafe across the road is fine - you are given a choice of 4 options from which you choose one. Tea and coffee are on tap.
Would def recommend if on a tighter budget
