This is just to add my voice to the reviews by Frank M, JinkyLeeds and Amy H- I loved this place. My room was large, light and airy with a high ceiling, French windows and a balcony. I didn't notice any street noise and I slept as soudly as Rip Van Winkle.
Thanks to Zita and all the staff. Merry Christmas.

We loved the Budapest City Central. Its location is fantastic — close to the Metro, and a perfect base for striking out on foot. The staffers were super friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. And it's a great bargain on top of everything else.

It is, indeed, a bit hard to find, but that's more a Budapest thing (streets change names with alarming frequency, and street signs are small).

Highly recommended, and we'll happily stay at the City Central when we return to Budapest.

Must admit that having been dropped virtually at the door we struggled to find it at first. The understated (!) entrance down the alley and up poorly decorated stairs etc gives you little idea of how good this hotel is. Ignore the entrance way etc and book in here for great access to the city centre and really friendly reception staff with great English, always willing to help and advise. The room was fine and breakfasts / free drinks and reductions on meals in the cafe across the road were a great deal. Breakfast quite the best I have had with a hotel this grade - lovely freshly made omelette, coffee and orange juice. Great price and great location

I stayed here in November with 3 friends for 3 nights. I loved that breakfast was served in the cafe across the road - it was tasty, fresh and the service was great.

The reception staff were very helpful and polite and I really felt safe staying there.

The hotel is very close to Szimpla Kert which every guide book raves about, and rightly so.

We also found some super cheap places to eat fine plates of gulash.

All in all, this is a great place to stay - it's clean, it's safe and it's really friendly.

The hotel consists of a couple of appartments in a huge early 20th century hotel - it is not that easy to find. However once you've got there it is really pleasant. My room was large with a high ceiling, nicely furnished with comfortable beds and a good bathroom, too. It was on the street, so it was very clear yet not noisy at all. Staff was very friendly.

Only disappointment: breakfast costs extra, is served in a bar across the street, and is basic - you might want to go have it elsewhere (e.g. the grand Central Café, expensive but worth it).

Overall a very good place to stay.

If price is important to you, you should def book this hotel. Clean rooms, extremely friendly staff and central location. The only problem is that you can have a hard time to find the entrance as it is a bit hidden behind iron gates ;)

A very nice hotel with good value. Nice and clean rooms, and very friendly staff. The location and pricing are close to ideal, the only thing that lowers the grade is that the window in our room was facing the corridor and everyone cheking in or out would walk right in front of it, so we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy and didn't get much of daylight in our room...but then again our room was quiet, there was no noice from the street etc. We would definitely visit this hotel again.
And a tip for people with difficulties finding the place: it's right next to Telenor office in Astoria.
