“Good food, nice view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

We were invited to this restaurant by friends who have a business discount. They were recognized, so we had a special table, called "panorama" with view of te Royal Castle (see the photo) and a really good service. The first plate, which we shared, "Hortobágyi palacsinta" a meat filled pancake with tomato sauce, was excellent. As main course we asked for several plates: stuffed cabbage, duck with red cabbage, pork sirloin and a fish from the Balaton lake, everybody was happy with his/her choice, perhaps the stuffed cabbage was the best. Shared desserts and good espressos finished a very good and enjoyable lunch.

“Good location & food; interesting musical entertainment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Good honest food (including duck + red cabbage - of course!) and good desserts; well presented.
Best to choose the 'originally decorated' room where affable trio entertained on bass, fiddle, guitar and interesting keyboard instrument (timbalo, so I was told).
Fair prices.

“Great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

A lovely location on the banks of the river Danube with views of Buda, the castle and bridges over the river. The welcome was friendly and the waiters spoke good English and were happy to explain the dishes. The menu has a good selection of traditional Hungarian dishes – the Paprika chicken with dumplings was ok and somloi galuska – sponge cake trifle, cream and chocolate garnished with fruit - was delicious. I found the service good – 12% service charge is included in the bill. The restaurant has a lovely ambience enhanced by the live music from a trio of musicians. So, if you want to try traditional Hungarian food in a magical location, this fits the bill.

“Great location, very good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

We had lunch here on a Sunday in October 2013. It was a very good experience, the service is nice and the food is excellent. We ordered different dishes and they were all good. The location is superb, especially on a sunny day. Definitely recommended!
