“Good food, cozy atmoshpere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Déryné has a cult in Budapest so to say. I am not fully into the magic of the place but I have to acknowledge their food, becuase it deserves it.

The place has a really authentic feeling, I think the reason for that is that the building is not renovated so the walls look like as they did a few decades earlier. The designer cleverly put the place fully with small decorative stuff again from earlier periods of time. Don't get me wrong it's not run down at all, but cozy!

The hostess was really nice and positive, but the waiter spoke and acted like he is better than us or better yet everyone. That was a bit repuslive.

The meal on the other hand made up for the waiter and left us with a positive feeling about the place.

You can find the menu and prices on their website.

“Fantastic atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014 via mobile

We ate a late brunch on the 1. Jan here and we were absolutely smitten by this place. The atmosphere sets you back to the early 20. Century with great decoration and lady playing the piano full of character. The food was AMAZING. Really. Really well thought through dishes, presented beautifully.

“Perfect Food and”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

The waiter was really helpful with our food decisions. Not all selections from the menu was available, but what we was served was the best food I had in Budapest. The dessert was not the best, but I will not take the score down at all.

“Cutest French restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

This is easily one of the cutest places I've ever been to. It's on the Buda side, just over the Chain Bridge, near the Castle. They have one of my favorite hidden gems in Budapest - their Spicy Deryne! If you actually want to enjoy the drink, don't eat the pepper :)

The food is always amazing here. They bring out very fresh, delicious homemade breads at the beginning of your meal. The seafood here is a hit - especially because it's rare to find good seafood in Hungary. I definitely recommend trying this place!

“Awful service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

Oficiant was arrogant and suspicious, it was unpleasantly enough. Food was good, but not extraordinary. Money for nothing.
