“Hungarian Traditional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Paprika was recommended to us by Daniell, our taxi drive. He even called and made reservations for us. He explained (he speaks near perfect English) that Paprika is the place, in Budapest, where the locals eat and recommend to tourists. With that in mind the service was wonderful, and the food plentiful and very inexpensive. I would agree, Paprika is an experience that everyone should share. And, the menu is in English (among other languages)!

“big plate, little quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

I understand that for some people big portions of food are more important than quality and I respect it.
But in Budapest you can have big portions and quality at the same tine. Paprika is a very beautiful restaurant, staff is very nice and service is perfect. But food is not a plus here. Very touristic.

“Yummy ! ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

If you are hungry after sweating a lot in the bath nearby the restaurant, this is the place to go. A good restaurant to chill, great decoration, and the food is good value for money.

“Our favorite restaurant on a trip that included Budapest, Vienna and Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We had read about Paprika on Trip Advisor and it was near our hotel (at the end of Andrassy you turn right at Heroes Square and it's about a 10 minute walk down Dozsa Gyorgy). We had dinner there our last night in Budapest and wish we had tried it earlier. We were fortunate to have arrived early, shortly before 6 pm, so they were able to accommodate us without a reservation but any later we would have been out of luck. The place was packed, so do make reservations. The menu is fantastic, literally something for everyone. They offer goose, duck, turkey and chicken a dozen different ways, have half a dozen each of beef, pork and fish dishes, there are a few wild game offerings and there's a vegetarian page. I had the leg of goose "Vadasdi" style with fried goose liver (the liver was perhaps the most delicious thing I've ever tasted). My wife greatly enjoyed the pork medallions Hungarian-style, served with "Lecso" (onion, tomato, bacon and paprika). We washed it down with a very nice merlot (Szekszardi 2008/2009). Not only was this the best meal I had in a dozen days in Budapest, Vienna and Prague, it was also a bargain at less than $50U.S. total. In U.S. dollars, the goose was about $15, the pork $12 and the wine $21. Wonderful restaurant, nice people who graceously accommodated us without reservations, and very pleasing "outdoorsy" decor.
