“Best "value for money campground"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012

We have been traveling around Europe for 2 months camping and this is by far the best value for money! Wifi, washing machines and showers are all included in the 21 euro per night which is on the lower end of the scale for what we have been paying. Toilets and showers are cleaned regularly and to a good standard. Resturant is very reasonably priced and good quality. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall it's been a great stay 5/5 :)

We stayed here whilst visiting Budapest for the Grand Prix. The campsite itself is very basic but the showers and facilities were very clean and well maintained. Unlike a lot of campsites there was a free launderette and wifi. I agree with the other review that there is not a lot of privacy in the showers however the water was always hot and they were regualrly cleaned. We ate every night at the restaurant on site which was excellent, the food and staff were wonderful and overall it was excellent value for money.

My sister found this campsite before we travelled. There were positives and negatives to our experience.

Positives
1. Really close to city centre. Get the no. 24 tram. This runs from right beside the train station. The campsite has a huge sign outside it on Haller street.
2. A lovely restaurant is located just around the corner. There are also two shops where you can buy groceries.

Negatives
1. Booking can be difficult. The campsite staff where unhelpful about explaining where we had to pitch our tent, unknown to us we actually pitched in the reserved area even though it was not clearly marked and had to repitch our tent.
2. The ground is terrible. No grass and make sure you have a hammer of some kind if you are camping.
3. The campsite itself is a huge mix of campervans, tents and parked cars. There are no specfic zones even though there are two distinct parts to the campsite. It is a bit of a free for all.
4. As with all sites, beware of your belongings. One of us had a towel stolen from the bathroom while we were there!
5. Restaurant on-site but we choose not to use.

This July we went to Budapest and decided to camp instead of choosing a hotel.
Haller Camping is located close to a metro stop (Nagyvarad ter) and from there it's close to Deak Ter metro stop which is where all metro lines meet.
The bathrooms and showers were clean (and cleaned several times a day). There was hot water all the time.
It did get a bit noisy when a family wt kids put their tent right by ours but at night, it was quiet.
Really good deal for 20 euro/night (Tent and 2 persons)

Hey guys.
I just came back from Budapest. I ve been there with my friends and we stayed in Haller Camping for 2 nights.
It is really good spot for stay in the city. Very close to the center (about 10 minutes by walk to the metro station and then another 10 to the city centre).
Directly opposite to the camp is the fuel station where you can buy your sandwich even at the midnight.

In the price of the camp, which is about 9 euros for a night for one person (in the group of 3 with 1 tent) are included showers, cold and hot, as well.
Then you can wash your clothes over there in the washing machines.

The only thing we didnt like it was that in the whole camp there is no grass. It was bit uncomfortable for buliding the tent. But yes, I DO RECOMMEND this campsite for everyone who wants to visit Budapest, yes!

11.07.2007.
My friends and I were in Camping Haller, Budapest last July. It is a good place, even for a longer time. It is situated really very close to the centre of the city. The tram stops in front of it, one of the 3 underground lines is 10 minutes from there on foot. Right next to it, there is a simple market. About 500 metres from there, you can find a huge shopping centre with everything. The receptionists can speak both English and German.
The camp site is shady and looks like a park with really huge trees. Everyone can stand where he or she wants, there are no exact pitches at all. The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned but cleaned two times each day. Finally, we stayed longer than we planned. Compared with other accommodations in the capital, the prices are low and the 4th night is gratis there. It is a must for visiting the city.

  • Liked — The central location of it.
  • Disliked — Once there was a whole-day rain.
